Just need another biker opinion really.....

Got to buy a shelter for work and wondering if you guys think you would still be able to lock a motorbike up to the shelter below even though its a push bike shelter.

As I need something that is duel use as there is a couple of bikers here that want theres under a shelter...personally Im not really fussed but.....

You could lock a bike to it - but it looks a bit short for a motorbike. Your rear wheel would be stuck out of the shelter.

Looks a little small to me really. Is that the only size?

Or one like this....

Racks are 800mm apart but I believe 1000mm is the norm space allowed for a motorbike, but do you think a motorbike would still fit??

Well I only have a 3.5m gap to fit it into....... so its limiting me quite alot!

I reckon like the ones in Milton Keynes are pretty good, they only have the roofs not the sides and are a little bigger. Could maybe look for on like that...

The overall length of an SV is 2045mm and the shelter is 2100mm so there should be enough space.

An SV isnt much smaller length wise than many other bikes is it?

they'll still probably get wet. £2k?! I'd take an unpaid day off work, buy the materials and make my own.

Yea...I know its a lot of money......

If it was up to me I wouldn't get the shelter part and just get the racks bolted to the wall or floor

But the powers that be want a shelter, even though the building is to be closed and sold off in 2 or 3 years!

You may find the racking for the bicycles takes up a lot of space

this one looks ok, but maybe too big.

I would skin the guy with the trike and make a shelter out of him.

I didn't know aesthetics was part of the brief. :D I think you'll have a tough job to please all and the limited space make the job even harder. Good luck.

Why don't you get a iron monger fella to come and custom build one for you. It'll make best use of the small space.

I would think that would take signifcantly longer than the 3 weeks I have to get one installed!!

Nice idea though!!!
