We have Dieselmosedici..........................this explains why!

Technically, slogans on the bottom of the numberplate make the plate illegal (regardless of dimensions issues). That area is supposed to have the place of manufacture (of the plate) written. Failure to do so means the plate doesn't obey the law.
That said, in the past I've had "Caution: Suicidal Tendancies".
Currently "If you're not first, you're last!"

Get what you like really. So long as the plate is legible and the font size is correct, no probs unless you come up against a real jobsworth!

A couple of years ago a guy at work had 'Suck ma balls' on the bottom of his plates. One night he had a visit from the coppers who gave him two options. Put the original plates back on or get a fine. Guess what, he didn't go for the fine option. He even had to prove that he had changed them back. Apperently someone had taken offence when sat behind him in a queue and reported him.

I did have my username and Sv650.org on my last plate , til some `Tard stole my Scottoiler and the plate that it was attached to . My TZR had "Disposable Heroes" on it as we all seemed to think we were Heroes on bikes and crashed them regularly then went and got new ones with the Insurance pay outs . My Mito had "My other favourite Toy has Tits" and my KTM had "Also available in Fast"

My last few plates have had "Lozzo - UKRM". I have to change the new bike's one as soon as I get the bike because it has a EU style blue GB thingy on it, and as I'm against Britain being in the EU it has to go.

The plate has been on the bike for ages now. :)
But no, I agree, unless it's a total jobsworth, they won't really pay much attention to it. Still, it's better that people make informed decisions. :)

I think the same about the plate, as long as the reg is correct font size e.t.c i don't think it makes a difference unless you catch then on a really bad day!

I want a Monaco tagged plate for my new bike. I just like the little national logo they have and it can be done on a French style yellow plate in approx the right size for UK too. I saw a place in a hypermarket who made them on the spot last time I was in Nice.

We have government issued plates in the states.
Made by prisoners.
Can't put anything on them.
They are owned by the state (as is your drivers liscense)
You can choose the lettering on them.
Although it's not smart unless you plan on always riding the speed limit to have an easily remembered number plate.
At least they're small.

you wouldn't believe the sort of hoops she had to jump through to get her bike changed to french registration. She had to put everything and I mean everything to original spec, ever tried finding an original zorst for a 1977 Z? It even went down to the lenses on the indicator, because they didn't have a certain mark on them, and the mirrors, they wouldn't accept them, she kept having to go to the cop shop when she got stuff, only to be sent home with something else to change. She finally got an exhaust, got her plate, and now shes thinking of selling it8-[ as the bikes getting heavier and heavier for her in her old age........she can always send the yellow peril back over here to me:roll::p

Someone I know had a hell of a time getting a CBR400RR registered in France because no-one had ever imported one before and the model wasn't recognised. They had to do the whole type approval thing from start to finish
French law is stupid in many respects. It used to be the case that you could register a stolen bike very easily in a certain district because you didn't need the original papers. That's why many British registered bikes were stolen from camp-sites and bike parks at places like the Bol D'Or and Le Mans.
