Why?

The bulbs are OK - the main beams work fine permanently on the rocker switch, but the the yellow flick switch wont raise to main beam?

Seems to have just happened recently? Any electrical wizardry needed?

Almost definitely it will be the connection in the switch gear. Either the solder or the switch itself.

Try some GT85 or ACF50 into the switchgear first. Mine throws a similar wobble every now and again.
