Hi boys and girls.
Ive been away on a Z750 then a Firestorm.
I purchased my SV1000S today and have it delivered tomorrow.
Its shiny silver, full fairing, full system TI force exhausts ETC.
I must say, this is the best forum ive been on by far.
The firestorm forums are rubbish - people just dont send things in or communicate with eacj other.
i only have one photo of the new machine at present - how do i upload it?
Cant wait till tomorrow!!!!

Got my bike yesterday - it was delivered at 7.30pm.
Washed it, polished it and took it for its first ride this morning.
It is quite similar to the storm but i would say smoother.
The suspension is a little more refined on the SV, but that could be down to age - the storm was 2004 and the SV is 2006.
The full TI Force exhaust system sounds incredible.
I am going to have to change the small rear number plate for a legal one though.
When i had my SV650 with a small plate i was pulled up and fined. They tried their best to give me a ticket for the blue flame exhausts at the same time - luckily they did not see the "not for road use" stamp as it was on the inside!
cheers

We are all very chummy around here - the annual ride-outs and the local meets encourage us all to get out and meet each toher and become real friends :smt020
Sooooo SV1000 eeeeeeeh? good call :D I would love one, but I do lots of miles and don't have alot of money, so whilst I can afford to buy one, how long can I afford to buy petrol for it  If I had one, it'd get the topbox treatment and an LSL handlebar conversion kit, taller screen, loud loud loud exhausts, crash bungs and a belly pan :smt041
Anyway, good luck with the SV - how does it compare with a firestorm and your other previous bikes? Stick around :smt052

I will take some more at the weekend and put em on!
Bit of help if anyone can please-
i have removed the small show plate an put the "legal" one on (i have been pulled for this in the past and can do without the fine/hassle).
My problem is that the rear indicators are inset very flush into the Ermax undertray and the proper number plate obscures them to a degree.
As i have the hi level exhausts on i am not sure if i can put some mini indicators on so they are visible.
Anyone got any bright ideas?
I have a similar undertray with similar problems. Come MOT time I install a legal plate with a number plate bracket which includes indicator mounts. However the whole thing is rather wobbly and I take it off as soon as I get home. Frankly the design of the undertray is rather poor.
Not much help, but if you do find a good solution, let me know :)

Thanks for that Ophic.
I will keep a look out on what the best solution is.
I did fancy changing my rear lights to those with the built in indicators - it would appear they will not pass an MOT though.
Buy the way - i posted your screen this morning!
just checked, no good for me, i thought it was a bag, ta anyway

nice :-)
Great looking bike and good choice. I've put a standard size Skidmarx tinted screen on mine. It was 35 quid at the bike show last year. Perfect fit an no bother with it.

Thanks very much for the quick postage mate, much appreciated, I will keep an eye out for the package.
I do get up the Cat and Fiddle a fair bit (it's less than half a mile away :)), but does get a bit repetitive after a while. Will definitely meet up there though during summer, Ratty is up there all the time too!

seem to have it sorted!
I removed the led indicators that came with the ermax undertray and replaced them with"bulb" indicators. These stick out from the undertrat by about 20mm and are much more visible from the rear.
I used the stock numberplate light to hold a bracket onto the undertray (bracket is actually a small show plate!)
I tapped the holes in the numberplate light out to 6mm and screwed 2 stainless studs in.
I had to drill 2 10mm holes in the undertray to pass the studs through plus a 22mm holes to clear the lamp holder itself.
Slide the whole assembly through the holes in the undertray then place 2 6mm nyloc nuts from inside to hold it all together.
Its solid as a rock and the rear indicators are perfectly visible.
If your interested i will post a photo
Ratty is up there all the time too!
I'll say. Was up there today. Very, very quiet. No bikes at all at the pub each time I passed. Long Hill quiet too. Thought I saw you turning off the main road as I was heading up from Macc about 12:45 ish but could have been any silver bike really.

Nice job!
I feel that my undertray isn't quite as solid a fit as yours though. I'm worried about hanging too much weight on it as its only held in with the plastic popper pin thingies each side of the undertray. Add to this a 90mph wind against a full size plate, and i'm worried. Hence my 6x4 plate :(
thats a neat job, it looks far better with the smaller screen aswell

i assume your undertray lips inside the side panels the same as mine.
Even with just the plastic poppers it should be solid.
All of the forces of drag from the number plate should not move it.
If it had that much force against it the plastic bolts holding the plate on would shear first. And remember, the plate is pretty much sheilded from wind blast because of where it is behind the bike.

Did the side lights to indicators conversion and thought they werent visible enough from the side. Just fitted some flush front LED indicators.
Got some real flush ones that fit into the recess where the original indis came our - look great.
