I know its not the right forums but i figured someone might know something...

Basically when he was out of the bike yesterday he had to bump start the bike because the battery was a lot low. Now the engine management light is on but everything seems to be fine and its starting fine again now. He emptied the battery with LOADS of heated stuff...

Cheers

the 675 i took for a test ride had it's bettery gone flat, the EMU light came on but it started just fine, however it was a bit jittery for the first few miles, then it smoothed out and performed flawlessly -dunno if it's like the ECU in my car, where if you disconnect the battery you have to wait for the engine management to learn your driving techniques again

What you have to do is let the bike get up to full tempreture and back to cold 3 times then the light will go out.
There will be error codes stored on the ECU still but the light will go out after 3 temp. cycles.

Cool cheers. Any idea what could cause it on a bump start?

Could be all sorts, The Ecu mesures reading from all sorts of things. It might be low voltage on the fuel pump e.tc e.t.c.
I have a diagnostics tool so I can plug the lap top in and have a look.

My SV did this the other day, my neighbours called out the RAC while I was at work, and it was a loose connection.

Also, I hadn't ridden for a while and it had been taken off the trickle charger accidentally.

Theres yer answer...

Yeah, as stated the bike should be okay and the light'll disappear after a few hot/cold cycles. It happened to me with my 955i 'tona as well. Nothing to worry about at all though.
