Hey guys,

I would like to sell my 2000 curvy in order to upgrade to a bigger bike, Im looking at possibly a gsxr 750.

My bike has had thousands spent on it! some of the mods include:

Gsxr 750 Front end, including suspension, wheel and brakes.
Hyperpro fully adjustable rear shock.
Quick Shifter.
Gold Painted wheels.
Gas flowed Heads
K+N Induction Filter
braided hoses all round
Black double bubble screen
Venturer Luggage rack
Full micron high level exhaust system.

The bike has just had a complete overhaul costing me hundreds! The parts replaced regardless of condition were:

Front and rear wheel bearings,
Sprocket carrier bearings,
Headrace bearings,
Gold X-ring chain and sprockets fitted,
Brand New HH sintered pads all round.
Brand New Wavy Disks all round.

All 3 calipers were completely dismantled and cleaned with new seals and regreased.

When i Bought the bike i was the second owner from new! However when i got the bike there were several things that needed sorting, these were:

The steering lock,
the speedo,
new tyres.

All of the above were repaired and sorted when i bought the bike, new tyres were fitted, the speedo setup was repaired and built to run off the rear wheel and the steering lock was sorted so that all works now.

In general its a very good fun bike without any faults at all! it has got very low mileage, i have done under a thousand miles on it in the year i have owned it. It has now around 5k on the clock.

It has just had 12months tax and mot put on it so it can be ridden away.

Also included in the sale is the rear seat cowl, in immauclate condition.

The bike is now going to have a full service which will be stamped in the book.

The bike is candy grande blue and is a stunning colour. I am looking around £2500 for this as it has had so much spent on it.

Just a thought but you might be better breaking it, folks probably reckon 2.5K is quite a lump to shell out on a 2000 curvy considering what you can pick up 2nd hand for the same money.

I wouldnt even consider breaking it, I am more than willing to sit on it for a while until it sells.

as for the price if anybody buys a curvy i can guarantee that it would cost a dam site lot more to buy the bike then put the sort of mods on it that I have got, besides that the bike is immaculate.

its the problem with adding so many mods to a bike of a certain age, no matter how immaculate or mileage. I know you expect to get back what you've put in, but it rarely happens that way.
The markets on its ass at the moment, good luck with the asking price.

have you got the origanal parts?

as you could put it back as standad and sell all the bits seperate?

thats what i did, and got more than i wanted for the bike

I obviously have movement on the price however like I said before im willing to leave it wrapped up in the garage until a sensible offer is made.

Whilst I am fully aware that I will not recieve all of the money that I have put into it I would like to recieve at least some of it back.

The receipts alone just for the overhaul total nearly £900 !!

Problem is Rory, the servicing is seen as something of a necessity. If I were you, I would sit on it until closer to the summer, where more people are looking for bikes to play out on at weekends and are willing to pay that little more.

Speak to Dangerous Dave and put a 800cc kit on it, and bang a Bandit 1200 rear wheel on it :)

Have to agree it's a good example and the mods fab. But to give some perspective I recently bought a CB900 hornet of a guy who'd spend nearly £10K altogether (SP1 front/Ohlins rear/Gear Indicator etc etc) I paid him £2,600. The problem is that a nine year old bike however heavily moddified is still nine years behind what the factories are putting onto the market today.

That said, if you're prepared to wait you could well find the right buyer - Hope you move it on anyway. Good luck.
