Hey,
Today I was just riding for 20 mins and I started getting a strange smell in this region:
Temp was 91 degrees, any ideas what could be causing the smell?
It was a bit dark, but I couldnt see any loose cables.

Was the road wet or have you previously been riding in the rain ?
Might just be water / dirt burning off the radiator or front of the engine.
Can you describe the smell a little more ?
i dont know waft a bit through the internet and i'll tell ya hahaha in all seriousness though have you sprayed scotoiler or acf on the downpipes that sometimes smells could be electrical aswell.

It was quite a strange smell, no it wasnt raining and has been kept indoors. It smells like some chemical burning. I spray ACF 50 but, that was sprayed 2 weeks ago and i've been using the bike everyday and hasnt smelt like this yesterday. I'll have a look again in the morning if I can see anything on the engine.
something might have stuck in the rad??
Did you spray any ACF 50 on the rad? Could it be the smell of that on the rad or the smell of a hot motor, like you get when your stuck in traffic?

ACF50 can cause a right stink, was the bike maybe running at a higher temp than usual making it burn the acf50?
I thought my bike was on fire last week because of it. Oh the shame.

I have had a bizarre burning smell from that area too. I had checked all the wires to make sure they were not being cooked but it was still there. After a recent service tho, the smell disappeared. The man at the garage blew out all the crap from my oil cooler and radiator, so I recon that dirt (and in those areas especially) could could be the cause.
Shell petrol always smells different to me.
Last time I had bad smell form that area on my bike it was coolant leaking from the radiator due to a nice big hole left by a stone.
