Hi all,
On Monday morning whilst going to the lock up, I've noticed a about 10yr old Audi a4 (still in good nick) parked next to the pavement, passenger window opened, keys inside... nobody around, I've ignored it.
Monday evening, coming from the lock-up, same scenario, car in the same spot...
Yesterday evening, was going pass it again, someone closed the window but the keys were still inside.

Not sure what it is, as the area it's parked in isn't the best, what do you think, maybe someone is trying to have his car nicked on purpose??

Would you ignore it or phone the non emergency police line, or just take the bloody car :D?

tell the coppers, and they'll probably come put a police aware sticker on it.

That sticker will probably also state "if this vehicle isn't moved/claimed within X days, it will be towed & crushed at the expense of the owner."

Call the non-emergency number & let plod deal with it.

could be a set up. Steal the car and find out it is loaded with bags of heroin and cocoaine!

Could be the police have left it as a set up, could be that someone is trying to have it stolen to claim on insurance.

I'd just call the non emergency number and say you don't want kids that can't drive getting hold of it and joyriding. They'll come out and deal with it.

i doubt the police are gonna go to the effort of placing a bait car on the street for 3 days in such a trouble, scrote free area.
where do you live for crying out loud, tellytubby land?

Didn't pay attention to where the car was and the police regularly did it in Bristol when I lived closer to town.

I don't live in tellytubby land........l live somewhere you could leave your front door open for a momth and not have a problem!

A bit harsh don't you think. The first thread does say..
*AHEM* And I quote

The area it's parked in isn't the best

Doesn't sound trouble and scrote free really does it?

Takeout the keys and give them to the police. No one else deserves to steal a free audi.

You could take the keys, lock the car.

Find who owns the car (Dvla will sell this to you), contact them via post/telephone.

Id ring the non-emergency line if you're that concerned / bothered.

IMHO, I can't believe someone would neglect their car (especially a pretty desirable one) for that long in such a nickable state. Makes me wonder if the owner is even around or if something has happened to them
