Hello!
After much deliberation and research I am finally trading in my CB500 towards a low mileage K7... in the odd light greyish blue that I can find no parts for (but is rather close to the colour of my car).
Planning on getting a fenda extenda, Scottoiler and some lower fairings but I think I'll end up paying full dealer price for the fairings due to the seemingly obscure choice of colour.
Picking it up on Wednesday, can't wait!
Welcome and you sir have the best and fastest pointy available... ;)
Oh BTW - Put yourself on the SW&S Map... link below.
Colour code (going by your description) is YDV... The lowers come up on fleabay every so often and the other parts are readily available there as well.

Hi hovis I've probably seen you on the road at some point (and not known it), I'm on Mill Road which then becomes the B4263 and runs up into Abertridwr.
Can't make a rideout this weekend, working which is already interfering with going to a concert on Saturday.
Was tempting by a few of the Fazers they had (Thunder Road) as well as a nice gixxer 750 but figured the insurance would kill me if the bike didn't first. That SWMBO will be pillion sometimes and wants a comfortable seat didn't even enter into it, honestly.
I doubt they're gonna tax it for me which means the usual week of torment waiting for the new insurance covernote to come through which will mean I'll have plenty of time to get the oiler working.
Cheers!

i just ran past your house then........ did you see me?:p
if the deal is done, its probably a bit late to try to get them to tax it, but its worth a try, i would try for a fenda extenda aswell, and maybe crash bungs.
i cant say i have noticed a cb500 around?
we used to meet in the tredeger arms newport once a month, which im trying to start back up, but in the green lady. as they have a bike night twice a month.
theres a few rideouts comming up, just have a look in the surfer section:smt115

Stuck in work atm, couldn't quite hear you all the way down in Cardiff!
I asked about the tax before the deal was done, they told me they didn't want my CB taxed so I can get it refunded (had only done it the day before!) which will go some way to covering a new one, not that bothered as won't really have time to do much riding for a while yet anyway.
I might leave crash bungs until later, the fairing is already likely gonna cost me more than I want to spend.
I've noticed a fair few bikes around Caerphilly but haven't noticed any specific ones as 'regulars' yet either.

hovis: went to see the crime scene eh? I wonder what happened there, that police truck has been there for days now. Concert was gonna be Fall Out Boy (no I'm not emo) but she's told me that the only tickets left were floor so given I would have missed half the acts it's just as well we're not gonna go now :( This is pretty typical though, I don't work every weekend but the ones I do I tend to get flooded with requests to socialize that I can't accept!
gene genie: CB5 was my first proper bike... started lessons last fall, passed last DAS last February. It's served me well but I'm 6'2" and I'm just too big for it.
Look forward to riding out, but you need to be patient as I'm still feeling my way around, people talk of getting knees down and I'm unwilling to go over too much incase I tip and lowside!
floor space is where you want to be............ although i dont fancy much of a pit at falloutboy lol.

(chav did it)
Picked up the new bike yesterday, turns out it's a k6 not a k7.
Poor salesguy, showing me the controls and I said 'well, we know the fuel light works!' cos it started flashing when he turned the key!
He said he'd go put some fuel in and hopped on, only for it to crap out as he'd run the battery down! So 20 minutes in the workshop getting it charged up.
Pics to come (took some last night in my dingy garage, not fit for public consumption!)
