Just seriously wondering if anything at all is worth it.......

2 of my friends have hit rock bottom (personnel problems) I have done what I can and they are both sounding and feeling a lot better and are thankful of me being there for then, (job done)

but its made me think, whats the point in anything.....
(not trying to bring others down)

Any answers

Because if you don't try you may as well be dead, and you're a long time dead!

Haven't you answered your own question?

Everyone has problems, they're just different problems.

We all have times in our lives when we feel down and wonder whether it's worth it. It's easy to roll over and give in. But if you do bother, and you do get out there and do stuff, meet people, and push yourself a little life is so much better and more rewarding. I had a bad spell after splitting up from a long term relationship almost 2 years ago. But since then I've met someone else and done so much including passing my bike test and learning to ski. I've never felt more alive or happy. Believe me, life is definately worth it!

I have no plans to do anything like take my life,

For starters I couldn't place the pain and misery on to my folks and close friends

And secondly I am a big chicken. (thats why I am slow on ma bike)

My ex and I split up when I was 3 months pregnant with my daughter and my lads were 6 and 7. I was on my own for 13 years before I met Pete. I have never been happier.:D

There is always light at the end of the tunnel.

I never thought or suggested you had.

Life is like anything, the more you put in, the more you get out.

Whilst admittedly not as bad as Lissa's case, my PC blew up and my bike blew over today. I was feeling pretty depressed, but then I just did a load of exercise and chatted to a mate and I feel a lot better. The good feelings in life are 10 times better than the bad feelings, so it IS worth it. Making other people happy then doing what you like best is the secret.

It does make you wonder at times , I had a run of cr#p for a while , knackered new tyre , indicator snapped off , Gortex jacket zip bust , bollockings at work due to calling my boss a banker , job at risk blah blah HOWEVER have a great wife and 3 great kids , love time on the bike it keeps me saine(ish) . A wee drop of whisky now and again.
Don't give in , give the buggers hell !

the small things make the difference , I was off work last week went for a walk with my wife up the Malverns , got to top found lovely shelted spot in the sun , lying down on soft grass with a nice cup of T , not a care in the world !

Cheers Steve

Happiness is fleeting and dependant on our aims at the time. However, I reckon we can all be much happier by just paying attention to some of the good things- especially when it's all going tits up.

Life is pretty tough at the moment, with the world apparently disappearing down the global economy's collective toilet, but surely this is a good time to be appreciating the stuff that is amazing. Whether it's the bikes, or the other half, the kids or whatever.

I think we define the point to life. And that point is always changing.

you need hard times to make you appreciate the good times
