View Full Version : Recommend me some bar end weights

I appreciate this is mostly down to personal taste, however I'm after recommendations on bar end weights that people have fitted and what their opinion is of them.

I realise that apart from aesthetics, they are important in a spill to stop the bar ends digging into the tarmac and they can also help control vibration in the bars.

The OEM ones were fine for me, however I wanted something completely black/gloss black.

Who has what and what would they recommend?

Thanks

Admittedly the R&G ones aren't completely black but they are quite nice.

Theres a few stainless ones on the bay at the moment. They appear at first glances like either of the two sets that I've got off other org members before.
Heavy they are, fit well, don't rust and shine forever!

Yeah..looked at the R&G ones, wasn't fussed on the shiny bit and they ain't cheap!

There are loads on eBay at the mo, however wanted to know if anyone has any they can recommend, or more importantly any that they don't!

I've got a pair of black delrin (plastic as used on crash bungs) ones for a curvey "S" going spare if you're interested and if they are compatible. They have a flat end and butt up to the solid alum clip-on with an M6 bolt if that's any help.

I have FJ1200 bars on my SVS and the bar ends are completely different so I have no need for them. Don't know what postage would be? PM if interested, can post pics if reqd.

Don't bother, fit some enduro handguards instead.

Power MADD's ones dont look half bad, and are reasonably priced.

This is in reference to the enduro handguards.

Think I'll just go for the OEM replacements, although £14 each they aint cheap but come with the internals which I need too (the tube and rubber washer/bung)

yeah, I was a little peeved when I bought R&G bungs for my race bike that they didnt supply the parts that go inside the bar. You need the rubber bung and tube from the originals.

Also, I'm not that impressed with the design of the R&G items, its very easy to overtighten and squash the plastic end cap. Didnt even have a washer to prevent the cap head screw eating into the plastic part.

Flymo - can you recommend anywhere on Merseyside to source Suzuki parts from or are Marriotts my best bet?

Personally I order Suzuki stuff online as it saves me travelling to Marriotts all the time.

I use robinsons foundry (http://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/shop/index.php/product/suzuki_motorcycle/suzukiparts/index.html) to order parts.

Very good service and fast delivery.

Use this site (http://alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm)to get your part numbers and order from Robinsons.
