Well been away form the org for the better part of a week now.

It all started last Thurday when we got super busy at work after having to dismiss an employee.
Then on Saturday my Mum went into the Hospital for emergency surgery.
(still not doing too good) :(
And finally lost electricity where I live last Sunday after a major snowstorm dumped a bit over 30 cm of snow here.
Electricity just came back on today.

But if bad things come in threes hopefully that's all for a while.
Tis' good to be back on the .org! :D

Meh you Americans, get a bit of snow and everything grinds to a halt.

I don't know why you don't cope better with snow like what we do!! :smt081

Nice to see you back BananananananaMan.

Fingers crossed for a speedy and full recovery for your Mum.

Guess it's not a good time to comment that it appears American years differ to English ones:smt043:smt043:smt043

Relating to your comment on the "Show your Face" thread

So I won't. :D

Really sorry for you and very best wishes to your mum for a full and speedy recovery. Fingers crossed that if (as they say) these things come in 3`s that you`ve had your full quota!

Please note. This forum is targeted at Brits, we use/understand the imperial system of measurement and the Europeans have even now said that they will not force us to use their dodgy dimensions. So you had 12" then. Lucky you.

Do you not keep an emergency generator. My father used to when he lived in the hills and had experienced power loss due to the weather. First year that he needed it when a tree fell on a substation. Whoops the diesel had froze.

Big thanks to everyone for the well wishes for me Mum.
She's still in the hospital. Not much better but thankfully not any worse.

Will be buying a generator soon. (all sold out)
We're used to getting a foot of snow here but budget cuts at the utility company have kept them from trimming back the trees as of late.
Now pratically everytime the wind blows the electricity goes off.

Quite alright.
I think that makes me only about 35 or so in English years. ;) LOL :smt042
(hehe wishing I looked 35)

Again thanks all.
Yes... it IS good to be back on the org. :D

Thanks Dave
I'm really sorry to hear about your mum.
Truthfully things don't look so well for mine and I really do need to make more time to be with her.
Thanks for the reminder.
