View Full Version : Possible ride 16/17th March anyone?
I have some leave to use up and a pass from Mrs.H to "do something for myself" on one of the days. Obviously the mind boggles with suitable crude things to say to that however I think she is giving me permission to go out on the bike.
Anyone about on Monday or Tuesday and fancying a bit of a ride? Probably heading Southish from Fleet for a few hours.
Nothing specific planned and if the weather is truly pants will probably do something entirely different like actually clean and service the bike or decorate the kitchen.
Cheers,
Mark
I will be up for it, cant turn down a ride starting in the same town as me now can i!
Monday - Tuesday .............i'm free...
count me in guys...:p
Any idea on where you'd be heading Mark_H?

What time are you heading out?
Come on mark_h, you got the ball rolling..........:tiesto:
dates and times needed ........
destionation to be looked up.. :study:
No idea yet, depends on the weather and how much man-flu I have left. Probably Tuesday.
If the weather is good and I feel OK may go for an extended jaunt into Wales via the Cotswolds. If this comes off then hopefully one or two of the observers from my bike club may come along too so it'll be a fairly "progressive" ride of several hundred miles.
If weather/health are less than good enough then probably just down to the south coast somewhere for a bag of chips.
If weather/health are awful I'm not going anywhere.
Will either be earlyish (08:30 or there abouts) if it's a full day or after lunch (13:30) if it's the shorter ride.
So like I said, no details yet until I know if I'm well enough and what the weather's doing. Should have a decent view on both by Sunday night.
I'm not into planning rides too far in advance as to be honest it just generates loads of noise and at the end of the day most people drop out anyway (bike broke, had to work, it's raining, I'm washing the hamster etc). I'm more into the "I'm off out in an hour, anyone want to come" kind of rides but this time I've given a bit more notice to expect a semi-spontaneous invite probably on Tuesday.
If you need more details sooner then please feel free to organise something else and I'll tag along with your plan if it works for me.
Sorry for the vaugeness,
Mark

I know a really great back road there.
Sounds good, although Monday would be easier, what is the problem with it being quiet lol, we can ruin it with the sound of our bikes!

Well you could start at my house (GU170JB) and follow the A30 to Odiham, then to Alton, then to Petersfield and from there it is a nice windy route (with some A3 work) to Hayling Island. It also has the best fish and chips I've had in a long time right on the beach. Just ask warthog. Allthough I can't do a weekday as I'll be at work!
Maybe we could take a long way round to get there so we get abit more riding?
Tonyk what way would we go to Brighton?

It was good, just don't sit next to Dan when you eat or he'll be a little child and squeeze the ketchup until it burst all over your face and arm.

Well........
start from Guildford
woodbridge rd on the A322 near a25 lady mead rd..
shell petrol garage..
A3 to Milford.
A286 down to Singleton.
cut across country side to catch
A285 to Petworth.
A283 all the way to A27
carry on A27 to uni of Sussex and cut down to catch B2123
this will end up along the coast.
Along the coast using A259 till you hit Madeira drive...
then across the road for food….
And on to the pier for candy floss or ice cream…….
Or just go for a swim.
Anyway.
back is A23 to A281 all the way via Horsham to start point..
Going is @81 miles 2 ½ hours ish
Coming back is 1 ½ hrs ish
ISH is dependent of the speed we travel ( within the NSL of coarse )...
a few people have done this route before..
OK. If anyone's interested, there will be a ride-out leaving the Oat Sheaf Pub in Fleet Tuesday at 14:00 sharp. There will be 3 or 4 "mature" gentlemen who generally get a bit of a shift-on. Not sure where we're going but we'll be back about 19:00.
Let me know if you want to come along and take a chance on a random route on the day.
Pub is here. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=GU51+5DR&spn=0.005,0.02&hl=en

thats what im wondering.......
Sorry, was not online yesterday.
This afternoon is still happening but will be a ride, not a hoon. If you want to blat about like a lunatic feel free, but this will not be that sort of ride. (Awaits patronising comments from Ogden).
Meet about 13:30 for a 14:00 departure at the Oatsheaf.
I may also stick in a quick TT,TTN loop before lunch. reply by 09:30 if you are up for a morning session.
Cheers,
Mark
In TVSF traditions, TT,TTN is A32, A329,
