after bein stood all winter my chokes have decided to sieze up solid!
before i take them to bits i just wanted to know if they were under any spring tension or if there are any little bits that are likely to go missing, just in case only 1 siezed.

No, all the parts of the choke plunger are on the cable. The plunger itself has a slot in the end that the cable holds.
Be careful with the retaining screw, there's little access and it will almost certainly be stuck, meaning that you'll have to pop the carbs off to remove it.

Sid isnt there a tiny spring in behind the plate that the retaining screw is holding on ? I'm sure it popped out when I took my plungers out and and went pinging across the front room.
Be careful with the retaining screws, if they are like mine were, they'll be really soft and its really easy to mangle the heads on them.

The spring is on the cable along with the plunger, unless you remove the cable from the plunger the spring can't be removed.
