"big donkey" wont start!

It was fine last night, and now, the alarm works fine, I turn the key, no main beam, no petrol pump noise, no speedo, no heated grips, no brake lights, but the hazards, indicators, and parking lights are fine.

I have tried swapping out all the fuses in the fuse box, the main fuse behind the battery, the alarm fuse on the side, no joy. I tried jump starting it from the car also but no reaction either.

What else should I check? I lifted the tank too but couldn't see wires broken or damaged etc.

I guess it is consistent with the key not being in the correct position so the switch could have broken I suppose. It did get nicked a while back with damage to the steering lock. I assumed it was mechanical only. Perhaps the electrical contact is now fubarred?

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Its the switch - panic over. wd40 and some jiggling fixed it.
