My mate firthy works for Volkswagen UK and mentioned this to me in november last year! "some tool tried porting/polishing his engine by dumping a load of sand in the airbox" I pished myself :)

Even better, last week on the kitcar forums, someone posted a link to a guy ranting about his knackered transmission on his truck.. Someone told him he could alter the gearing by welding his differential! = twisted metal everywhere

Aye ,read a few pages on it turns out it's fake but funny all the same.
On a similar note a work collegue of mine reckoned he saw a woman in a garage trying to fill her car with petrol via the oil filler cap under the bonnet!
