1 minute 47 seconds in and I already want to choke her to death:smt013
I watched this programme all the way through when it was on tv. I actually quite enjoyed it, but i feel sorry for her for having such views.
One that i remember was that if you tell 'a little white lie' you go to hell the same as if a murderer would.
And lol at her brother who refused to dance to 'i kissed a girl' because he didnt agree with the lyrics :D

Managed 10 mins of it - at first I was thinking ok thats good - no TV, aspirations to celebrity etc, happy, healthy etc. Then the heaven and hell stuff really got going and I just thought - brainwashed and sad :(

I lasted 15 minutes, more from the fact that I couldnt believe that people could be so narrow minded in this day and age.
The parents believe that "god opens and closes the womb".
Come on guys, look at your children.
Yes they may have a great time growing up in the middle of nowhere confined to their own little world of happiness, oblivious to everything out in the rest of the modern world but what about future social skills?
"you dont need qualifications" my a**e.
Everyone is entitled to their beliefs and views but in my view this is just wrong.
Rant over.
I watched the whole programme.
For those of you that don't know, my nick on the .Org is taken from the name "Baphomet" - if you don't know that name, google it.
My other half's mother is a Methodist preacher.
Somehow, we managed not to have an argument. :)

Do you believe in that stuff?

Do more reading. :) Don't just read what's on the surface, dig beneath that.
EDIT: Oh, and please, for the sake of the mods, try not to derail this thread too much. :)

I went to school with that girl, with the funny eye brows and "tan"
Jesus Christ, wasn't expecting to see that
You can't blame the kids or dislike them for what they are, they know no different. Lay all your blame on the parents for not preparing their kids for the outside world and brainwashing them all.
Religion sucks.

"we don't normally go out, we just stay on the farm, it's what we like to do, occaisionally we might burn a dog or a badger for a bit of light entertainment but apart from that we just kick the sh!t and wander around talking to the trees..."
I was really impressed with the family unit they have but incredibly disturbed by deborah's single-minded focus on death and 'Hell'.
There's a lot of talk about how kids these days are in too much of a rush to grow up, are exposed to things they shouldn't be too early. Deborah's own take on that and her understanding that she's too young for a lot of things was refreshing. Sort of implying that children should be children.
Ironically, her parents haven't sheltered her and preserved her innocent childhood under the wing of their god. They've replaced it with something even more horrible than what our 'sinful' society's allowed.
She fears 'Hell' so much she can't seem to think about living life. Her focus is purely on avoiding Hell. There's something in her eyes that shouldn't be in any child's.
I lasted 30 seconds. I took an instant dislike to the interviewer and her ridiculous points of reference.
Saying that, the kid was a nutbar.
