Hi guys, I need some information. My dad was all ready to get his VFR400 off to the MoT testing station when he noticed it wasnt firing on cyl. 3; checks lead to the head gasket being diagnosed as the fault

So, search for head gaskets....nothing. zilch. He must have tried over 20 places, including some places in the USA (some havn't got back yet) and as a last ditch option, I was thinking I could get some made up for him. Where can I get this done? How much would it cost?

"France and Li Asia Trading" <franceandliasiatrading@tesco.net>

Might be worth a shot.

How big is it?

If smaller than 300x600 mm I know someone with a laser-cutter if you can provide the gasket material and a stencil he could scan and sort.

However I did see one program on TV where they basically got a sheet of gasket material, laid it over the head and then by rubbing over it/pressing on the edgeds of the holes, "cut" the gasket using the engine itself - ie they pressed the waste pieces through the holes.

Thanks both of you; I'll pass the email onto my dad sosha

David, I'm not sure if my dad will be abl to get hold of the material - its thin metal and it has a special coating...but i will let him know, thanks
