Speaking to reporters on his way to Cameroon's capital, the Pope said HIV/Aids was "a tragedy that cannot be overcome by money alone, that cannot be overcome through the distribution of condoms, which can even increase the problem"
So, of the 2 million people a year who die from this condition. I wonder how many he's responsible for?
He's probably killed more than Hitler himself :rolleyes:

I heard someone say that aids could pass through condoms as it was a smaller molecule than water.... and they learnt that in sex-education in America. :lol:

They were actually looking at this, I can't remember the specifics, but it was that it could diffuse through thin layers of latex, such as the refs wear in boxing.

The pope has a point though. Mistakes can still be made even when using protection. I think the point hes trying to make is that everyone should be abstinent.
Remember - every sperm is sacred, every sperm is great and if a sperm is wasted god gets quite irate.

Really it's a combination of the two, they kinda bounce off each other. HIV increases the risk and severity of malaria and malaria stimulates HIV replication. Co-infection is quite common in the less well-developed countries and they're trying to find drugs to combat the two together but seeing as they can't cure either it's looking doubtful :(

I think its a case of yes a condom can fail... but no condom is certain to fail. There is no argument for not using a condom as far as health goes im afraid. :rolleyes:

There was a thing in the Onion from a medical research lambasting all the money wasted on curing cancer and AIDS when what they really need is to cure death.
