on the weekend i had the misfortune to purchase a shark s800 hurricane lid. a decent fit, decent price and surely can not be any worse than the aria viper gt which i also have.......pffff! wrong!

the wind noise is unbearable, even with plugs in. twice i had to stop on the hard shoulder of the M5 at 2 in the morning to make adjustments, not that anything helped so i was wondering....

has anybody from here ever had a similar situation and then returned to the shop and had an exchange/return or refund?

i have emailed the store i bought it from, just waiting on an answer but if anybody knows anything id be gratefull :)

Check your terms and conditions of sale, generally helmets aren't returnable (there are exceptions eg manufacturing faults etc, not many companies allow returns). I understand Schuberth are the best for noise insulation, though plugs are always a must. I use a Nolan and it's a little noisy, probably due to the flip front design which means extra places for wind to catch. I find the orange earplugs from Infinity are pretty good and cheap as you like, much better than the yellow freebies as found on the cover of MCN last week - they're rubbish! Good luck with your helmet return, though I can't say I'd like to get a pre-sold helmet sold to me - how do you know it hasn't been dropped or knocked off a table etc? :)
