got a phone call today and was given the date for when i go in, 16th of sept, i have no job and money running out. I have been offered a interview for a job, but is it worth it for 3 months? its a bit harsh jacking it in after that time. i also have to go to RAF haulton on the 30th july.
whats the almight org's opinions?
what do you think i should do?
cheers

I was going to apply, until i found out i needed a police check from Spain and Canada (been out of country for more than a month around a year ago). 4 months for the police check, 4 months to apply, ****ed off :(
Well done tho! Yeh get the job and jack it in who cares. Good luck!
Just so you don't go the the wrong place from the start it is Halton and not haulton.
Try and get down to the pool on a Monday evening 19:30 onwards for kayaking. Its free and all the gear you need is there.
Well done on getting in and see you at the pool.
Well done!
Get a job. Don't want 'dolescum' on here;)
only trouble is i dont wanna get a job im quite liking this not working malarki plus im riding bike alot more now. Maybe odd jobs to keep me going, i only need about 30 quid a week for my fuel.
or any part time work, thing is its the same as my old job and i didnt really like that :smt017:smt013

i know a bloke who delivers and collects charity bags (dunno who for but i'm sure google could help) - £150 a week for 3 days work a week, that would be perfect

Grats!
Enjoy your stay at Swinderby :)
Congratulations, as an ex-sailor I'd heartily recommend any of the Armed Forces as a career choice, I thoroughly enjoyed my time!
Is there any chance of some sort of Courier work near you? Then you could ride your bike and make money while doing it!
probably not, i dont really know the road well enough either.
worth a look tho, but i wouldnt want to rack up the miles on the bike :D

5 months is a bit more than i would have liked but doesnt matter im still in
At least your joining as a technician.
Was a bit worried you were gonna say scopey or steward as there having a real struggle recruiting them at the minute.
You'll love it! It's with out a shadow of a doubt one of the best careers out there at the moment and the wages are pretty good once you get out of trade training.

well done mate-use the five months wisely-get your fitness levels as high as you can-if you can manage the physical stuff in the forces it makes everything else thats happening alot easier to deal with.

Well done!
I'd plump for part time work to tide you over, even bar work or something if you can get it.

i was looking into tesco and morisons and asda just being a shelf stacker
Congrats mate... Part time route seems the best option. Aim to bring in just enought cash to run the bike and enjoy yourself each week... Make the most of the summer, before the work begins.

Congrats on getting in mate.
Definately get a job of some sort before you join as you will have to wait a month probably til you get paid by the RAF and you will need some money to buy stuff when you first go to Halton.
Keep the fitness up and you don't need to go to a gym for that.

i will if i can find a part time job. Fortunatly i have very good parents who will support me and will lend me money untill i can pay it back. I need to take £50 with me. I have a few jobs to do, i have to go sort out the wiring for my grandad for his digital and video payer and tv. i am also painting a friends bathroom for 30 or 40 quid and its tiny will maybe take a day. and if i do a good job her kitchen and hallway as well :D so i will have a bit of money.

IMO part time work would be better, might aswell enjoy the summer and the bike while you have time, your only young once, so aslong as you can do bits and bobs to pay for your fuel etc your sorted......

no thats just the pilots, i have met a couple and most of them are stuck up gits. ;)
Just go no the rock and roll (dole) for a few months.
For the next 45 years you will be paying into a system that will squeeze every penny out of you. 3 Months before you sign up is nothing.
You could get on your bike and go see some friends or relatives who live a good distance away?
Honestly, in a few short months 'life' will have your 'dangles' in a vice and she wont let go for many many years.
