just found my house on it, I can see what looks like a vauxhall vectra in the window and it looks as though it has a meaty roof rack on the top?

So they're just driving round photographing everything then? That's going to take quite a while!

Why are people not so happy about their bike/car being visible on t'net?
Yes a thief could spend months trawling through these maps street by street looking for their target and then they would know that say an SV was parked outside someone's house in like November, but surely any half sensible dodgy type would know that on most streets, at most times, people sometimes park bikes and cars..
Now I like my bike a lot, but I doupt anybody is going to go too far out of their way to nick it, lets face it, it's hardly the most desirable model around

I chased after them last year after their car came onto my private property. I live on a privately owned road, and wait to see what I can do if / when they publish the pictures.

Sounds like you had a gang of around 5-6 fella's chase you over a wing mirror yesterday? Theiving scum won't give a shizzle whether it's a measley v-twin or a big litre sports bikes etc... it's an object which is quite desirable and will sell sharpish...

It's not likely that people will spend ages trawling the net looking for bikes nearby, but it's like these internet security experts we get on the news telling us not to put our full names, mobile numbers & photos on facebook cos someone will steal our identity. If there's pictures of sportscars or motorbikes (or other desirable property) at locations which are easy enough to find, who's to say that a burglar/theif won't steal something after having seen it on street view?

Interesting times ahead...

They DO blur out faces and numberplates.

I just had a nose round and you're right, most number plates are fuzzed.

Not all though - not by a long way. I found five clearly readable number plates within a minute.

You could do the community minded thing and use the link on the page to report it to them so they can fix that :)

Couple of the guys at work managed to spot themselves (they had seen the car go by) and another guys g/f was pictured standing outside her work.

In all cases the faces are blurred
