Hi All

Just got stopped for speeding by unmarked car. Three points and £60 fine later but my question is about the new driver thing that if you clock up 6 points within two years your license in revoked.
Is that from when you get your first license or is that two years from when you get another/every license.
Had my car license for about 9 years but my bike license only about 1 year so am I classed as a new driver on the bike or is it taken from when I got my car license?
Hope I've worded this clear enough.

you only have *one* license

Search is your friend here.....

BUT the two year new driver rule applies from when you got your FIRST full licence. Any other test you pass adds further entitlement to your licence only, it is not a new licence.

So in your case, you have the full 12 points to play with............

You're in the same boat I was in last year - you only have A license, and the New Driver rule applies to the date that you got your license, regardless of what additional vehicles you are subsequently qualified to drive.

It's a bit confusing, but I confirmed this with DVLA. If it helps, I've had my driving (car) license since 1997, but my bike since 2007 - I got 6 points last year (on the Bike), well within 2 years of passing my Bike test, and still have both my Car & Bike license.

You'll be Ok, honest!

So you put that picture in then you want me to tell you what type of car to look out for.
I'll think about it.

Still thinking.

Hehehe, had that mate, somehow I've managed to spot the blue's under the grill in time :)
And speaking of lucky escapes, I was going down Market str. yesterday, wanted to "properly" pull away from the lights but checked my mirrors... A police car going into Torry past 11pm  Can you believe it?

Still, had to take it hmm.. quietly, reminded me of Aaron on the Slug road, you know when ;)

ok, what car was it??

No, that corner wasn't there last time :smt019

Another reason for the Blandit then? :D

EDIT:
A friend of mine has a ~8-10 year old 1200 nekkid which he rides about 150 miles a year, I could ask if you want...
But you'd have too check your mirrors more often :D
