Stop.
Take it off the paddock stand and hold upright (or better get someone to do that for you, while you check the oil level).
I think you've poured in too much... (think it's something around 2.4l)

2300ml or 2.3 litres to be precise is the amount on the pointy and I am pretty sure it`s about the same for a curvy . DO NOT do this on a paddock stand LOL , fill her up to top of the window when she is upright , I just hold her upright on the bar and bend down for a look , they recommend to run the bike for 3 minutes in the pointy manual , then let her rest for about the same and check the level , it should be at the top of the window at best and no more . I think it`s the same for a Curvy , I am sure somebody will verify or correct this shortly :)

You emptied all the oil out.

You took the filter off and thus all the oil from there is gone too.

You put the new oil in started the engine, the oil pump filled the oil ways in the engine and the oil filter filled up again, and now you're wondering where the oil went?

I bet it's behind the sofa, hiding under the stairs, or, just possibly, it's in the filter.

i thought it would run into the filter without turning over the engine
well you live and learn

Off the top of my head, 2.4 is without taking the filter off, so more oil is needed when you change the filter.

Just recently done an oil and filter change on my curvy (well my father in law did it really) and it was 2.4l of oil to fill up.

2.3l without filter change, 2.7l with filter change on a pointy.

Yup, for your curvy there should be 2.3litres oil max, if you change the filter as well it's 2.4l.

As already mentioned, fill oil up to the full mark in the window, start engine and run it for two or three minutes, stop the engine and wait three minutes for the oil to drain back down to the sump, see if the oil level is any different in the window and if the level is down, fill more oil up to the full mark.

Job jobbed!

does it not mention you have to put more oil in if you do a full oil and filter change, the way i did mine is on the paddoc stand, i filled up untill ast the full level run for 2 minutes waited a bit check, filled again and run up again i checked again and toped up and all done. i took it off the stand and the level is the same a on the stand.
