Not everyone agrees with things she has done or with how she was famous, but RIP Jade Goody.

If the high profile of her last weeks does anything to raise awareness of the impact cancer has on families and loved ones - and thereby increase funds for research - then something noble can come from the media hype that was her fame.

Thoughts are with her kids. RIP.

Seconded, I wasn't a fan of hers, but it's still sad, particularly on Mother's Day when her boys have probably got her cards and presents, incredibly sad

Very apt that she passed on mothers day-the detractors can find someone else to build up then knock down.
painfree now,RIP.

So sad. Was not a fan when she was just another reality TV star, but kind of felt the need to defend her in the end against all the critics of her making her cancer battle public.
She increased the number of cervical smear tests by over 30% following her diagnosis and subsequent public awareness campaign and for all those that criticised her decision to keep making money from it, I don't think any of us can do that. She did all the she knows to do in order to secure a future for her boys, so more power to her for that.

I think she'll be remembered as a very brave woman and quite rightly so. I think it's already been documented that three young women that had smear tests as direct result of Jades publicity are now being treated for the same cancer, so that's potentially three lives that she's saved already.

Rest in peace Jade x

Sorry if I offend anyone but spare a bigger thought for all the women who dont have access to the unparralled respite care and the income she has generated whilst being terminally ill but also are having to face upto dying knowing their children dont have the security when they are gone.

Again apologies if it offends but some families out there are facing the same problem on tougher grounds.

My thoughts are for the children and their future.

I think you can be both sorry for Jade's boys and family, and spare a thought for others. My sister in law died aged 36, leaving two young children-she had plenty of money, but sadly it didn't make a difference to her outcome.

Last year I took part in the breast way round-http://www.justgiving.com/breastwayround raising over £27,000 in the end for Macmillan Cancer Care- designed to help people who struggle financially after a cancer diagnosis.

Anyway, RIP Jade, I'm glad you are out of pain- I think you did a fabulous job at raising the profile of cervical cancer, and making testing a priority for people.

The whole discussion about her making money being "selfish" as termed by others has been covered in other threads, let this one just be a malice and disagreement free thread eh?

At least she's at peace now, and going in her sleep is by far the better way to go. Her poor little lads losing their mum on Mothering Sunday :-( RIP Jade.

I always thought she would go on forever and that the 'days to live' headlines were the usual sensationalism.......so was shocked to hear the news.

RIP :(

Its sad when anyone dies, but lets get real here, hundreds (thousands?) of people die premature deaths everyday without the general public even bating an eye lid because they're lives are not rammed down your throat.

If you want to morn Jade's death, then spare a thought for all the other's who have been just as unfortunate, and maybe do something for those in the real world who you can maybe do something for.

No one can blame jade for how she became famous or how she made money at any stage in her life, infact she's done remarkably well, but lets not forget she was only famous for being an idiot on a brain dead tv program.

But also let us not forget that this thread was started to say RIP Jade Goody. It may be a little unecessary to say the above when most, if not all of us have lost loved ones to cancer and many other illnesses, diseases and accidents. You have a point and you make it well, but this is a just a goodwill thread. I think most of us do actually do things for those in the real world, just don't feel the need to make this thread anything more than saying our bit for Jade Goody and her boys. I did the same for Natasha Richardson on another forum. Doesn't matter if you're famous or not though, you're still a person with a family that's got to live life without you.

I think I see where you are coming from but if Jade has saved just one person suffering the above (and with the increase of women going for smears then I think it's safe to say she will have), then it was worth it!

And she will have encouraged more people to give to Cancer Charities, so allowing the above persons better access to better care.

Jade's fame was created by the media and love her or hate her for it, she has managed to generate a huge amount of money for her boys (just hope Jack doesn't try n take half) and has proven herself to be an extremely brave person.

My thoughts and respects to her family. Rest in peace Jade x

I thought that the only reason he married her was for the money, but someone at work told me that it was ALL going to her children and not to her husband.

She was quoted two weeks ago as saying that she was leaving enough money in her will for a three bedroom house to be bought FOR Jack so that he always ahd a place for the boys to go and stay when visiting him. She also said that the trustee will be in charge of the house purchase, that Jack would get no other money or assets and that it was all going to the children and some to their dad Jeff Brazier to cover certain costs.

I think it was Max Clifford that said it, just hope it's true!

Hopefully she will now find what she never seemed to be able to while alive.

There is no difference between somebody sending you an email doing the rounds about 'Pagets Disease' (for example)and Jade Goody bringing to the fore cervical cancer. If it just saves someone, that wouldn't normally think there was something wrong, makes them stop and think oo I better get checked,
then shes done her bit.
Never been somebody who'd take notice of her antics, but I think her work is done.

Sorry to carry on with the side tracking of everyone's right to pay their respects, but as far as I know Jade wasn't a great do gooder for cervical cancer, she just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time as it were, and reacted in the only way she knows how - through the media. Of course it will help others which is great.

Thats no discredit to her, but it doesn't turn her into the saint some people would have you believe.

isn't everyone who suffers a disease like that in the wrong place at the wrong time?

I'm not being funny but I started this merely as a thread for people to say RIP, that's all.

I wouldn't wish what she had on anyone, whether it be jade, the pope, joe bloggs or even someones dog. However, someone has died from cancer, who gives a flying fu*k bout her antics with the media etc. I feel for anyone going through this and if she has helped raise awareness great. Also, the argument about her using the media is flawed, cause if any one of us were in her position we would all have done the same to make money for our loved ones.

Think I've said enough but can you keep this for tributes as per missyc's & gruntygiggles post. If you want to start a thread about all things wrong about her then go ahead.

D'ya know, it really riles me how two faced journalists are. In the shops today, practically EVERY mag and paper has Jade on the front pages, giving her respectful praise and compliments, and yet they were so quick to judge her when she was alive. Guess tis the way of the world. Just saddens me that's all.
