Excellent! I don't know the answers to your questions, but I do receive emails from the Steam Packet Company regularly and they always email when TT bookings are being taken (usually towards the end of the year they send them) so I'll keep you posted. I very nearly went last year at the last minute, they sent an email offer for the last race (Senior TT), it was £179 for 1 person for 3 nights in hotel and return ferry crossings. It also coincided with the Steam Packet Saturday races on the short circuit.
Go onto the Steam Packet ferry company website on the saturday after TT2009 ends. You can get the ferry of your choice then. Once you know your sailing dates you can start looking for accomadation. I have been going to the Island for 20 years and it is the BEST biking holiday you can have. Me & my mates look on it as a week long trackday and party all rolled into one. But remember that if you book to go over for TT 2010 you will get hooked and will not stop going in the future. I am always suprised with the number of long term riders who i meet who havent been to the TT. I always try to persuade them to give it a try and they wont regret it.
Yeah that could work, save trying to book accomm seperately from ferry, maybe if we get enough going we could get a discount, we could make it an ORG, long distance adventure :D c,mom guys, the more the merrier
You wont get a discount on anything during TT fortnight, not even on the price of the dog burgers they sell over there.
I really fancy this so will keep bumping this till june and see how many want to join us, could be a right laugh this, anyway plenty of time to sort ot out.

Sounds interesting Stewie, we are off to Ireland this June on the bikes, so could be a nice follow up next year. Let me know when you have more details etc. :D
Heres, the dates for 2010
http://www.ttwebsite.com/visitor_information/futuredates.php
we can work out the ferries and accomm etc when we know how many want to go, as Gazza said earlier we need to think about booking stuff just after the end of the 2009 event, so in theory we have a few months to work out dates etc and ust to whet your appetite

Best viewpoint for me had to be the Creg-Ny-Baa, several great spots and you get right close to the bikes. Or the Bungalow. Awesome.
Just spoke to these guys
http://www.steam-packet.com/SteamPacket/Book-Now/
all we need to do to book for 2010 is contact them in TT week 2009 and leave a non refundable deposit of £20 per person,to hold a place on the crossing, then they send you an invoice in Dec which has to be paid by Feb 2010, so in essence if you cant make it you,re out by £20.
Sounds interesting.
My friend and I might join in too.

Mike, did you have any idea on dates etc, I thinking the fri - mon, get over there fri have a few beers, watch the seniors on sat, have a few beers at night, mad sun next day, nuff said, more beers sun night then bimble home on mon, Ive had quite a bit of interest on the daytona forum including one lad from California talking about coming over as well.
Just set up a facebook group for this, here
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=60672954289#/group.php?gid=60672954289
its invite only, but only so we dont get over run with people who arent interested but like joining groups cos they got no mates ;)
Douglas Rugby Club, is good. They open up the club as a camp site, believe me it's brill. Right at the bottom of Bray hill, and you've got the Quarter Bridge. Your only down side is, prices go up for the whole fortnight. It is a must though, if your a biker.
Me pleeeeeeease :D
I were there in 2007 with 4 mates. We camped at the golf club in Castletown, and shared the hotel with Kevin Shwantz, John Reynolds and the rest of the Suzuki crew. Also went 3 years running when I were about 16 - strip clubs, with yer dad at 15\16 [-o<
So anyways, yeah - I'd be up for it. Are you looking at camping or proper accomodation. I know a family over there who rent out their farm house for the TT, Sulby rings a bell. I'll get in touch for prices etc.
The more the merrier :D looking at going out fri - mon, by all means check out accomm, theres been quite a bit of interest, so if you can find out about a large group that would be great, thanks

How can you include both the Senior and Mad Sunday in a 3 night trip? Mad Sunday is 5 days before the Senior, which is held on the Friday following Mad Sunday.
I presume you mean the Superbike race on the Saturday and Mad Sunday.

Oh bollox, I thought the seniors was on the sat with mad sunday the day after, the way it was explained it was to was that the racing was over on the sat and it was a last chance to run the circuit before normality returned on monday, my bad
Ok well nothing is set in stone, dates can be moved or altered to suit the majority.

Timetable for Race week is usually as follows:
Sat - Superbikes & Side Car 1
Sun - Mad Sunday
Mon - Superstock & Supersport 1
Wed - Supersport 2 & Sidecar 2
Fri - Senior
Sat - 125s & 250s on the Billown circuit
Races will be run on non-race days if postponed the day before because of the weather.
Shedloads of useful info can be found at http://www.iomtt.com/
If you went for the Senior and stayed til the Monday, you'd find the roads are shedloads quieter because people start heading home from the Friday night. The mountain section will be one way for the full TT fortnight however, so although a week late for "Mad" Sunday, you'd still be able to get a run in with the roads one way over the mountain, and you'd enjoy it so much more due to lower traffic volumes. ;)
Gutted I won't be there on my usual Marshalling point at Sulby Bridge this year.

Yes you did and I forget to answer you, sorry, ok, what I was going to propose was this, if any of you would like me to book the ferry crossing and or accom I can do that, the steam packet company require a £20 per person non returnable refund to hold a place, all that does is hold a place for you until they issue you with an invoice in December, you then have up until February 2010 to pay any balance, if anyone wants to pay me before that date then thats fine, I can sort some way of giving you a receipt, Ive never actually tried to organise anything this size before so bare with me, btw Im not trying to organise a SV rideout or anything, just though it,d be nice to spend a weekend away with some mates.

EDIT: Seeing your last comment, have Steam Packet said how much it'd be for a week away instead of 3 days? :D
EDIT2: From this website (http://www.steam-packet.com/SteamPacket/Book-Now/special-offers.htm):
TT Escape
Car+2 from only £94/€122 each way (£188/€244 return).
Valid for journeys originating from the Isle of Man departing between 26.05.09-5.06.09 and returning to the Isle of Man between 09.06.09-19.06.09. Weekend supplement applies – £24/€31 per vehicle per single leg crossing for Friday, Saturday and Sunday travel (excluding Ireland).
That's do-able for me, just swap car for bike, and add more money for accommodation costs. :)

Keep me down as a definite for your plans Stewie, and I'll do some research closer to the time too, to see if I can extend a little & stay longer than the rest are intending - that way it won't mess with your head/plans.
Still waiting for a few bods to get back to as well, but so far 16 peeps have said they want to go off this forum alone plus 6 off the daytona forum including a geordie living in L.A. who is working out his annual vacation around this, anyway once we get numbers we can have a look at accom, may go for something like a bunkhouse, but tbh no one has to stay with anyone else if they dont want to, right off to work TTFN

Ok, just added a poll to try and get a handle on who wants to do what re accomm and ferry booking, this may seem a bit early but just to let you know that if everyone who has said they,re going or have asked about ferries etc where to go, there will be 48+ going from here and the daytona guys and friends etc, so Im still happy to arrange as much as I can but if you can give me an idea what you would like to do it,ll take the pressure off me a bit, cheers. Campsites have a bit of a "buzz" about them. Often that buzz is a GSXR bouncing off its limiter at 3 in the morning. Great atmosphere about them, and the last two we stopped at had cafes\showers and bar onsite (and some mother and daughter who errr, made their way around the site if you know what I mean).
I don't mind camping, or bunkhouse - I'm easy (or so I'm told).

Well it depends on ferry, and accom plus spends, fuel etc couldnt say tbh, but it is the TT so it wont be cheap but it will be brill
so... say £300, should cover the trip? (starts counting pennies)
fuel, ferry, 3 nights (is camping a option?), pot noodles, can food and supermarket beer :-dd

Possibly, accom is up to the individual really, whatever you want to do, Ive suggested people send me £20 so that I can book the ferry for them, you can also book accom through the steam packet as well, saying that its anyones call how they want to get over there and where they want to kip etc..:)

whats the total price looking at?
and can we ride the track?

Ive just checked this years dates cos it,s too early for next year, looks like its beteween £160 - £170 depending on ferry route, times, etc
whats the total price looking at?
and can we ride the track?
depends on ferry, accomm fuel, spends beer food etc, if we go out on the thurs we can watch the senior on the fri, there may be superbike racing on the sat and we can ride the course on sun, mad sunday is actually the week before but the island is still in one way mode so we can have our own mad sunday and catch a late ferry home OR do whatever you like, Im not tyrying to organise what we all do or anything, Im going, be nice to have some mates along as well but how you get there and what you do when you arrive its entirely up to you guys :)

Well, its quite something to sit at the Creg-Ny-Baa being so close to the riders that you could punch them off their bikes. It's not much different to track racing but maybe it is. I dunno, racing is racing and these guys are against the clock.

Looks like a good idea by you guys, you can have a great time at TT.
No discounts though i'm afraid Stewie i think it was who was saying before.
If anything you want to watch out for where you eat etc...
Hopefully i'll be able to take some of you for a run round the course. Also in the meantime if you wanted to see what the course really was like, don't come at TT i know that alot of bikers who come over for a cheap long weekend out of season, the roads aren't full of thousands of other bikes trying to go round and round with a load of police slowing you.
Even now in this easter holiday there are quite alot of english plates over, and therefore the police number has risen, this weekend the police bike is out and pulling over to catch people with his speed camera.
TT is well worth a look just once because i will gurantee you'll want to come every year, i did before i moved here. There's so much to do aswell other than just pure racing granted the racing is unique aswell. The island is well worth a look pretty much from now through too the end of september !

Laxey wheel, pretty norm really but you can go to the top. Tram from laxey to the bungalow, the quick way to the mountain section for viewing.
Purple helmets. Always out and about to impress and they never cease to. The stunt show on douglas front, that was pretty cool.
Castletown was dead when we went, makes me wonder what the whole place is like when its not rammed with bikers, Laxey is such a peaceful quiet place at night.

Douglas, you'll be lucky mate. Look around surrounding areas mate. Try Laxey etc.
