Well, can't get the mounting bar out of the bike for a start. I don't think it's been removed before but since i dropped the bike i kinda think i got away quite lucky, time to put them in. Also got swingarm sliders, they a pain in the ass or not?
Anyone got any advice on how i should be removing the pin? Instructions just said remove it but that didn't really help.
Thanks :)

Do you mean the engine mounting bar that passes through the frame and engine? If so, it should just pull out to be replaced by the one supplied with the motosliders.

If you mean the engine mounting bar then just try to push it through with the one that comes with the Motosliders.
If you can't push it through with the bar then gently tap* it with a hammer.

Yeh sorry got pin in my head from someone else, meant the mounting bar, won't come out for toffee, i don't wanna jump up and down on the wrench... i've tried warming the engine up to see if that works but nothing.
Basically i can't get the nut off... i dunno if it's something blindingly simple or not tho.

Ahh so you've not taken the nut off it yet either?
You need a socket on either end to stop it spinning

Yeh i tried that, haha :p... one on either end but it just won't budge at all.
Someone said something about trying to lift the engine with someone just maybe a couple of mm off the ground? Shouldn't it just come out?

Put a large crap screw driver on it's nose a smack it with a mallet. Should pop out you're replacing it anyay no problem if you damage the threads (but try to avoid it). Put a thin coat of grease on the one you put back in.
Edit: oops just saw the above, how big's you ratchet/ breaker bar? put a spanner on the bolt end at one end and your most heavy duty tool on the nut end and give it some. You can extend the handles on breaker bars with solid tubing ir soemthing just for a bit more leverage.
OT - Anyone able to link me to Motosliders ebay shop? :D

Hey Dave,
Getting it out isn't the problem, getting the nut off is the problem ^.^

I used a breaker bar (an extra long socket bar) for extra leverage. Came undone without too much drama then.

Ok bit more muscle needed then i guess, but i literally leant on the ******* haha.

I'd go for a quick spin to get the engine nice and warm then or if you can't do that then get a heat gun on it.
I think heat makes metal shrink and cold makes it expand
Infact I'm pretty sure that's right.
I fitted my R&G ones after riding home from work so the engine was warm.
Mind you don't burn yourself though.

Yeh i tried warming it up but that's a neat idea. Bike's off the road anyway so a ride's out of the question but a nice long idle won't do any harm!!
Thanks for your help people, replied quicker than i could read.

that's wrong liam lol. Heat makes it expand cold makes it shrink. Either way a bit of heating and cooling will inspire some movement I would have thought .
BTW liam I've got those bars out for you took some pictures too if you want em.

Completely wrong  Heat makes metal expand.....
From Thingus' description, sounds like the nut is on really tight and he cannot shift it. A breaker bar will help with this as you get a LOT more leverage.

in that case I wouldn't bother leaving an engine to idle for more than 5minutes can do harm I think. Best just eat some spinach or buy a bigger breaker bar/extend yours. I wouldn't try it with a ratchet might stress the mechanism a bit much.

Well... it was a 50/50.
I do remember now though

if you can't get a breaker bar, a piece of bar or scaffolding pole will work as well as a breaker bar, you just want to be able to apply more leverage on the spanner/ratchet. Worst comes to the worst, hacksaw/disc cutter to remove the nut but try to save the threads.

I know one of my bars wouldn't budge, it kept spinning round and round, it helped having another set of hands on the other end, to steady it, whilst giving it hell on the breaker bar.
swinger bobbins just screw in IIRC, which reminds me I've to fit the other set, now the burd is back on the road!

:D yeh i found a breaker bar in my dads car how weird is that. Didn't know he had one.
So yeh hopefully that bugger will work. Good news about the swinger ones, they scared me a lil', thought i had to take the wheel off or somethin'!! haha O.O

I know these nuts are probably on waaaay to tight, but what about hosing it down with some WD-40 or similar a day before plus a ride to heat it up. Maybe the WD-40 may penetrate the first couple of turns and just make it a little easier.
Thingus

Yeh i already covered it in wd40 but i'm gonna have to pull out all the stops me thinks.
You have a gorgeous bike btw mr Bullet O.O maybe it's just the sun or somethin' ^.^
