Hi all,
Just blindly ordered some Skidmarx fairing lowers for my curvy from www.mandp.co.uk (http://www.mandp.co.uk). They didn't have any example pictures on the site but they do have a returns policy so I thought worth the gamble.
Does anyone have Skidmarx lowers on their curvy? It could be up to 4 weeks until they're delivered so if someone could post a picture I'd feel a little happier with my purchase!
Cheers
Alex

Skidmarx are not made anymore but were taken over by Pyramid Plastics , have a wander over to their website and see if they are on there , typically it is nice kit .

Cheers Badger,
Are you sure about Skidmarx though? I only say because their site looks like its still up and running, and the item that I bought from MandP was even advertised as being Skidmarx product.
Checked out Pyramid Plastics but they're not even selling fairing lowers for SVs, just belly pans really. You got me worried now though....wonder whats gonna arrive in the post?!
Still looking for fitted pictures if anyone has them?
Cheers

These are the next two popular versions, both aftermarket accessories...
Powerbronze

Skidmarx (very similar)

Hope it helps you identify them a little easier, you will need brackets though.
I had a set of both skidmarx and powerbronze lowers for my curvy.
The skidmarx ones were much better made than the powerbronze, but the design of them was IMHO a bit suspect as they very nearly touch the rear brake pedal. If you look at the picture on the post above you can see. Mine for some reason was even closer to the pedal. Also with the skidmarx they cover the sight glass for the oil completely, so you'll need to remove the lowers to check the oil. I took them back and ordered the powerbronze. (which is what I ordered in the first place, shop ordered the wrong ones!) When these arrived, the quality of them was a bit carp. I managed to get a refund on these too! In the end Because I couldn't find OEM lowers in yellow I opted for a bellypan ;)

Cheers for info. Feel a bit more excited about receiving them now! Hopefully I'll get away with how close they are to the rear brake as I've only got little feet!
Also still hoping that the 'red' lowers from skidmarx will be a close enough match to the 'Pearl Helis Red' of my 99 Curvy!
Any ideas on that?
Cheers
Got your message, mine's not lowers but bellypan, HTH
IMHO skidmarx bellypan is much better looking and suits the curvy SV :smt060

hi ya
i just got mine and fitted them today.
im happy with them.
but with saying that the fairing seems to over lap the top fairing making it look to big for the bike.
iv just e-mailed skid marx asking them if they sent me the correct fairing.
sorry for the state of my bike (its in a bit of a mess) im going to be spraying it white soon.

That's brilliant mate, exactly what I was looking for. See what you mean by the overhang though, bit worrying! What's the colour match like in red? It looks good from the pictures but I wasn't looking forward to getting them sprayed. How long did they take to get to you? I've been quoted up to 4 weeks, but would be nice to have them sooner!
And my last of many questions is how do you rate them? Money well spent?
Cheers,
Alex

hi ya mate
well for £104 (from M and P) £110 delivered
i wont complain.
money well spent.
my bike has been DIY sprayed already so i cant tell if the red the fairings came is the same as original.
i think form what iv been told they do match up . if not give your old bike a shine an wax.
i had few problems with the brackets fitting them that is a bit tricky.
mount the brackets as in instructions.
but when mounting the fairing on to the brackets start with N/S and use the C bracket mounting other wise you going to spend half an hour trying to work it out.
if you get stuck ill be taking photos when i strip and reasemble the bike prior to spray paint.
good luck mate

I have just bought a set of lowers from Skidmarx, and i admit to not having a scooby as to how to fit them, but they are really good quality and mune only took 10 days to arrive. I also bought a double bubble screen from them! That was a drama fitting it yesterday, but only cos it seems I needed 2 longer screws to fit at the bottom of the screen.
