Can a nyone help? I was putting more music on my ipod via winamp the other day as I've done a hundred times before and thought nothing more of it. Now, when I try to use it it insists that there is no music on but that it only has 3 gb (out of 80) free. Whats more, winamp doesnt even recognise it as an ipod anymore. Any help people? I'm happy to wipe the ipod and start again, its all on my computer anyway. Right now I cant evn do that.:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Google yamipod and use it to remove the music you recently added.

I have seen this before where a single corrupt file can mess up the iPod FS or something and it does that (no music). Removing the file will get yo back to where you were.

The restore option in Itunes does the same thing (pretty much).

Make sure you eject it before unplugging it. That's the cause of most problems with Ipods.

But if he's using winamp, its unlikely that he has a recent backup of his iPod. As you say, eject the thing before unplugging!

Thanks for the help guys, I installed itunes and just reset the damn thing. All is well now, just got to put my music back on it. I don't use itunes because it doesn't let you extract music from other peoples ipods, winamp does. That and I just prefer winamp.

the only think iTunes is good for extracting is "the p1$$".

Is this thread yet another argument for MP3 devices that allow you to just drag and drop music from ANY PC running ANY OS (that supports USB before the smarties get going) or what.

I recommend anyone looking for a new player goes to www.anythingbutipod.com (http://forums.sv650.org/www.anythingbutipod.com) and then checks out the Cowon section.
