Hey
I know these are softer on the outer edges but will I be asking for trouble if i do a track day on them? I'm supposed to be doing Lydden in a few weeks and can't really afford new tyres. When I had them fitted the guy said they would be ok for a track day but tbh I'm not entirely happy with the way they feel when I'm pushing on. That might just be crappy winter roads tho.
Also, what's the general feeling on used race tyres? There should be a few part worn supercorsas kocking around by now I would have thought.
cheers

1st Trackday?
I did mine about a year ago on Dunlop Qualifiers (as they were what came on the bike)
However if I had to go tomorrow on the Roadsmarts that are now on then I would.
To be honest I would be surprised if you pushed the Roadsmarts to anywhere near their limits on a 1st trackday, I know I barely got the Qualifiers to show any sign of having been on a track on mine, and that was on a Z750, not an SV.
I haven't got Roadsmarts, but I have Pilot Road (Michelin) tyres on my CBR. These are sport touring tyres, but I'd be more than happy to track them.

Not my first track day. Done about half a dozen over the past few years and generally run at the fast end if the inters. Where do you think my avatar pic comes from? I don't ride like that on the road! ;)
Last time I was at Brands I crashed and bust myself up pretty bad. I was pushing too hard and lost the rear end at Clearways. I will, therefore, be taking it pretty easy. I've not done Lydden before either so more reaon to take it slow.
Thanks for the replies.
Roadsmart rear/ Diablo front worked A1. Then I am very slow.
Last time I did Lydden I was using Diablo Stradas. I was happily able to drag the footpeg through the top hairpin on my ZX6R, so don't get too fussed. Modern sports-touring tyres are very, very good. Don't do anything too stupid and get a feel for the bike, tyres, and track and build up slowly.
Lydden's too small to take too seriously anyway :D
