View Full Version : Anyone with a Nokia N95 mobile?
Just bought one off a mate and it has a 2gb card in it. Was thinking of upgrading to 8 or 16gb but wondered whether or not it'll be more laggy, the larger the card size.
I usually avoid the cheap chinese stuff on ebay but is Sandisk ok? Is Kingston or any other brand any better?
On the issue of the phone, it seems a quality bit of kit. Garmin satnav installed, 5mp camera and the screen is superb. Bit of a jump from an SE W810i!

Not a bad phone.
Memory cards are all pretty much alike once they are formatted for the phone.
Make sure the satnav is stored on the fone and not the memory card if your looking at changing it though.
I was happy with my n95 and still use it as a spare phone for work.
I was given an N95 8gb as an upgrade but still prefer the older N95 as you can remove the memory.

Have the N95 with an 8GB card in it - no real lag issues.
I get my cards from MemoryBits (dont have a link ATM) and they can be competitve with eBay - I have also bought from eBay with no problems too - so not much help really :)

i got the n95 8gig brilliant fone :)
+1, great bit of kit, can be slow but it does have 8GB of stuff to look through!
yeah its a big upgrade on the last one, but im still learning to come to terms with Nokia's way of texting (some function buttons are different to SE).
Reckon ill get an 8gb rather than a 16gb as I doubt I would use that much.

av also got one with 4gb mem card, awesome bit of kit for a mobile as its quite old now but i have no plans to change it for a while yet. no lag noticed due to any mem card size tho
N95 can only support up to 8gb chip

Got an N95 too. 18 months old on Sunday, and the battery lasts about 20 hours :(
yeah I dont find that the battery is that great. There are a few on Ebay stating double life so might have to buy a new one.
got a n96 this week......still getting to grips with it ,so will post up details later
I've had an N95 (not the 8G version) for the past 18 months. Under developed in my view. Get the lates SW update and its a lot more stable. I've had four fail though with camera failure, keyboard bounce and backup failures (replaced by Carphone Warehouse) I belive the replacements were probabaly reconditioned problem phones which possibly contributed to the failures. I guess if you got a good one to start with you may be OK. I'll be getting shot of mine as soon as my contract finishes.
When they work, they are a good phone, lots of features but as has already been stated the battery life could be better. I have to charge mine every day.
Nothing to say about the phone as I've never had one but I have got various Sandisk and Kingston cards (used in phones and cameras) and have never had a problem with them.
I get them here (http://www.scan.co.uk/). They are dirt cheap as I go to the shop but their prices for postage will probably be prohibitive.
