Bit of a weird one for you all.

How do Urinal Auto Syphons work? I have one of these http://www.gofixit.co.uk/acatalog/urinal_auto_syphons.html I want to use it for it's auto syphon, not in a urinal. And I'm trying to figure out how it works. I've taken the plastic cover off it, and there is a small bore line that rins though the cover at the base and up to the top that doesn't seem to connect to anything.

I can have a go in a bucket, but just trying to get my head round what's going on, or if the pipe should be connected to the internal gubbins in any way.

Havent looked at the link but generally auto syphons trickle water in at a reduced rated via a Cistern miser (or similar) and when the water level is suffcient it discharges via a self induced syphonic action.
