Not a music video - does not count......

Trying VERY hard to think of something that tops Thriller, but finding it difficult.

Now we get music video directors directing movies, I think Thriller was the first to have a movie director do a music video.

contenders however include...

Take on Me by AHA - nice Rotoscoped Animation

Where the Wild Roses Grow - Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave - Kylie gets drowned by a psyco :)

In the End - Linkin Park - Love the CGI "world" it is set to

I Would Do Anything For Love - Meatloaf - Beauty and the Beast remade :)

One - Metallica (the version with the video clips from war movies)

Earth Song - Michael Jackson -

Remember the Time - Michael Jackson - (after the ultra cheesy intro)

Smooth Criminal - Micheal Jackson

I Want to Break Free - Queen

A Kind of Magic - Queen

The Show Must Go On - Queen -a collection of the best of clips from all the Queen videos, but when viewed with the hindsight of the fact that Freddy was dying at that time, it becomes very moving

Probably more, but those are the ones I have on this machine :)

One that instantly comes to mind is Metallica's Whiskey In The Jar... it just looked like so much fun to make.

If you are looking at "Totty videos" add

Call Me - Eric Prydz
Satisfaction - Benny Benassi (Ministry of Sound version)
My Boobs are Ok - Lene Alexandra

Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden
Sabotage - Beastie Boys
Go with the flow - Queens of the Stone Age

Although I would have to admit that some of Michael Jackson's videos have been very good - Alien Ant Farm's mickey takes have been excellent too!

:rolleyes:I'm no feminist, but do admit to getting a birt sick of all the 'tottie' music videos.
Where's all the 'buff boys' in 'speedos' dancing about and shaking their stuff?
Now that last 'Sugababes' vid was more like it [ can't remember the name], where they were using half naked guys as cars and motorbikes!!!
Yeah! More please! Oh! Need to go for a lie down!

Thriller is definitely right up there.

Come to Daddy- also awesome.

I love The Test by Chemical Brothers- really works with the song.

Also Forsaken, by Dream Theater- again really suits the song well.

How about Peter Gabriel- Steam or Sledgehammer. Great vids both.

To be honest, I hadn't considered the totty in it, I was just talking about smashing the place to bits while belting out a choon.

But now you mention it :)

As a side note, how about videos that should have been infinitely better than they were?

The Divinyls - I Touch Myself ;)

Just so you know, the actual name of that track is "Destination Calabria", as the brass section is sampled from the track "Calabria" by Enur.

The original is on the new Ministry of Sound Breakdance compliation.
