Got an xbox elite yesterday and it is really good. BUT after a couple hours on it I feel a bit sick:(
Does anyone else suffer from this or is just me??
It was the special edition Elite Red Resident Evil 5 edition from Game. The resident evil game is top class by the way - I can recommend it!
But I am now considering selling on ebay as it can make me feel terrible:(
Yeah i used to get it playing games on the computer. See how it goes, but you may not get used to it. Some games are worse than others.

You are supposed to rest ever 30 minutes or so

Fair comment but it wasn't excessive or anything

Is the Xbox making you sick or the game? Some people just can't go forever, i know someone who sits there for hours on end playing it but i can't go more than an hour even on a new game. If it's the Xbox then take a break if it's the game then man up! :p only jk, just watch a few graphic documentaries first :)

I cant play first person shoot em up's for this very reason, its the screen scrolling makes me feel sick as a dog.

Yeah i think you could be right about the 'screen scrolling'. Don't remember these problems with my last console - although that was a sega megadrive!!
Just trying to decide at the moment whether to chuck it on ebay:rolleyes:.
Check the whole xbox on ebay or the game?

Its because you sit there engrossed in it so much your brain forgets to blink your eyelids.
Its staring at all the flashy images.
My little lad has his Xbox on for 1/2 an hour at a time, as he stands there staring so much it gives him headache. You can see his eyes are red!
I get the sick feeling staring at the laptop, but I'm sure I read somewhere thats down to the screen res or something, I think it flickers at very fast rates that you can't see....something like that.
nooo dont sell the whole thing. Sell the game, and try some driving games or anything other than FPS.
To be honest if you played for hours on end im not surprised. I never really played more than an hour at a time, and if i played longer i felt sick after.

Sit further from the screen, ensure good ambient light and take a break after an hour, even just to get a drink.

Thats what does it for me, doesnt matter if its on a console or a PC screen after 10 or 15 minutes I start to feel giddy and sick, but its always the first person shoot em up's that do it. I can play driving games and Grand Theft Auto fine though.

Try changing the rate from 60Hz to 50Hz (or other way around) in the video options on the dashboard . Try a different game as well . I have only ever experienced this with one game and that was "Forsaken" on the N64 . I was all over the shop and disorientated and threw up everywhere . It could be just that you are not used to the display , I remember my eyes burning for days when I got a 360 , those peepers may have to get used to it a bit .

Don't give up on the XBox360 just yet. As has already been said, make sure you don't play for extended periods without taking a break.
I used to suffer the same problem playing TimeSplitters 2 on the original XBox.
Stick with it, it is truly an awesome games console, way better than the PS3 ;)

Weird.. Never had any problems.
You probably need glasses, I used to get like that because I was straining my eyes.

A lot of people get motion sick from games - the whole reason the original Metal Gear Solid didn't have a first person mode is that the lead designer (Hideo Kojima himself) gets motion sick!
You might get over it, you might not, try taking it easy?
Switching 50hz/60hz won't really help, and many 360 games require your TV to run in 60hz mode anyway.
