Unfortunately they neglected to mention which dealers they where  apparently though dealers are desperate to sell so you could bargain yourself a decent deal maybe, which is your local trumpet dealer ?

Yes, dealers are doing their best. I just got a cracker of a deal on a Ford Ka. Give it a go, tell them you can only afford x amount. They will meet your demands.

Yeah, you can always vote with your feet, tell em what you want for your current bike and how much you are prepared to pay for the next one and if you don,t get it just walk away, you might find a tug on your sleeve ;)

LMFAO @ the 675 punts!

on a serious note i didnt take a 675 for a spin jus coz i dont like the riding position on my SV so couldnt deal with riding 'what felt' like a 125 in terms of size!

i cant believ you peeps the missus is gloating now coz so far her 2 top choices are winning! (biatch):p

my older bro was a gixxer junkie for a long time and he sez exactly the same.......get a supersport now and enjoy it!

i do think the daytona is the one of the prettiest bikes around, but i dont want a plastic-fantastic machine for speed or looks......just not my type of bike. i want a 'proper' looking bike.

jus personal preference not old age.....yet (still plenty o years left in me to try one l8er in life)

my mrs has that talent too. Take her anywhere, she'll point to the most expensive thing in the vicinity and say "i like that one". Doesn't matter if its for me, for her, if its bikes, footwear, cars, tools, whatever. And all without so much as glancing at the price tags.

a win win situation

strangest fing ever.........the speed triple is turning out to be cheaper to insure than the street triple R, even tho its a higher value bike/bigger CC etc etc its nearly £200 cheaper

rictus01
31-03-09, 04:32 PM
Whilst the "Street" has nice colours the "Street R" the nicer bits, they are tiny, side by side it's a light weight compared to the speed (think speed triple washed on to high a setting and some gucci bits pinched), nice enough bike but the Street will never be a muscle bike as the Speed is, of course should you need a few years on one of Triumph's training bikes; it's probably wise to go for one of the little ones first..............;)

Yes after a slightly (read majorly) confusing moment where no throttle reponse caused him to give more throttle and highside. At gone 60 years of age, it didn't just hurt his insurance...

I joke with him saying give it to me, you can't cope with the power. Thing is, I think I would be wary of the problem he had now...

D. I prefer the size and aesthetics of the Speed (especially in Black), but the Street is:
a) Quicker round the Nurburgring (which I take to be a good indication of A-road performance).
b) Lighter.
c) Cheaper to buy.
d) Considerably cheaper to run and insure.
e) A better wheelie machine in stock form.

cheaper to run maybe.......but not cheaper to insure!!!

All the quotes ive had have been quite a bit more for the striple R....and its the 'R' in the title that does it (group 11 for the speed and 14 for the street R)

i do prefer the streets all round, but hell if im gonna pay the price for insurance i may as well av the monster speed!

still debating on which.....so unsure its giving me a headache lol

Orange is for KTMs.
Silver is quite nice.
The low level pipe is loads nicer than high.

But you can't beat the speed triple. It's as much a liter bike as the striple is a 600 :-P
