Right my k-tech springs arrived today, got a friend fitting them on thurs. any do's and dont's i should make him aware of?
What should the fork oil/air gap?
Is there a how to on here how to do this?
Pretty sure he knows what he's doing, lot more mechanically minded then me but can never have to much info i think

Download the workshop manual from here (http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp)that will have everything you need to know from changing a bulb to a full strip down of the engine!

A few very basic things, but if you're confident with doing things there's nothing secret involved.

Make absolutely sure the bike is stable and cannot fall (I pass ropes from the bike up to the garage roof as a belt and braces approach).

Slacken the top yoke pinch bolts, then slacken the top caps a bit before removing forks.

There's a little preload on the springs but not a huge amount so make sure you keep some pressure on the top caps as you undo them.

Try not to ram the leg down into the slider when you've taken the springs/spacers out, it will jam in the bottom and you will swear. It's easier to remove the fork legs to drain them than to turn the whole bike upside down.

Oil level is set with fork upright, spring and spacer removed, fully compressed

the k-tech springs might need a different amount of oil. hagon does.

Just looked through the manual i have and it says fork oil level is 92mm for the N and 94mm for the S.
Oil capacity is 490ml for the N and 488 for the S
Not huge differences so if i am for around 490ml and 90something mm, it cant make much of a diference can it?

What I posted is for the "original-and-best" curvey. Pointy may well differ.
