How do you find the average (mean etc) on excel? i'm having a blonde moment and i have over 400 data points so dont want to do it manually
merci beaucoup
=average(A1:A20) or whatever your range is
"Insert", "function", "average"
or similar..............
What orose said..
=average(first data point cell reference:last data point cell reference)
:)
Or, at the bottom right corner you'll see NUM. right hand click on this and select AVERAGE, then when you highlight the numbers you want, the average will be displayed here.
The possiblities are endless :)
Perhaps we could start an excel question a day, and then all learn a bit more!!
No, ok that's a bit sad!

5mins on a calculator tops. You've already counted how many are in the set.
(I've been warned about 'poking the bear' before... but it's just TOO tempting...)
