Hey guys, new to all this, picking my red SV650S up tomos, but was really wondering about weekly meets in the general area of Glamorgan, live in Cowbridge.

Couldnt find anything elsewhere, and I noticed you mentioned Porthcawl.

Cheers

Welcome! We were trying to come up with some sort of rideout involving the cafe at the junction of the A48 and the A4222 which is practically on your doorstep. You probably already know how all the weekend warriors like to gather there.

Where'd you buy the bike from? You might wanna go post a formal 'newbie' thread in idle banter.

Cheers for the welcome metalangel.

Aye I think I know the cafe, above Aberthin?
Got the bike from GT Superbikes, great bunch!

And followed your advice, posted new thread too.

Never been to GT, only Thunder Road (shivers) and JTS.

The cafe is the one on the north side of the road (though there also seems to be one on the south side that confused me when I rode past last time).

GTs is run by terry from thunderoad, and the guy from cyclelogical, i have not been there for a while, but they are good guys

I found Thunder Road very helpful, and GT too, obviously.
But not so keen on JTS.
Why "shiver"?

When you buy a practically (500 miles) new bike you don't expect it to be delivered with a dead battery, or for them to take five days to replace it.

Aha, I see your point, oh well.
Picked bike, then found tax disc out of date, hmmm, sorted now, but a bit annoying (I realise this aint a major issue, just spoils the moment! :P)

why?

metalangel

It can really **** on your chips with tax discs, cos unless you have the insurance documents (you can do it with the new keeper supplement at least) you can't tax it. A good dealer should go and tax it for you when you collect it (Blunder Road at least did that for me)

tax it online.......... no docs needed

Doesn't always work, if your insurance is near the start date of the new tax it'll say it won't work (happened to me with my old bike) because they can't verify it from the insurers database.
