Ah ok, I had the bike to 100 degrees and was getting worried as the fans were not comming on. 3 degrees more and they should come on then ;)
Thanks alot :)

Mine went to 107 the other week an it hadnt come on.
My normal running temp is bout 78
Never had mine on.
Temp rises to low 90s, drops to high 70s when the thermostat opens, and is usually in the mind 80s.
Just doesn't get hot enough for the fan.....

I've just replaced my fan switch after mine reached 107 and cut out in traffic on the way to Soho. I bypassed the switch and the fan worked fine, so the switch was the main suspect.
Unfortunately, I don't stop much on my way to work so there's always plenty of airflow. Hence, I won't find out if I've resolved the problem until tomorrow. Maybe I'll pack a paper clip so I can short the switch if I overheat tomorrow.

Just after i got the bike I was caught in a traffic jam and i heard the fan come on, looked down and the temp was 96, couple of miutes later, fan still on, temp 99, another couple of minutes, fan went off temp 101. mmm slightly confuded. another couple of minutes temp at 102, still no fan, started switching the bike off when the fan was stationary but the temp was still climbing very slowly but climbing and still no fan, It hit 107 and was about to pull over to the side of the road when I realised i was taking the temperature reading from the odometer, surprisingly my temp is now above 10000 degrees :jocolor:
Like most bikes it'll come in around 100 and go off when the temperature goes back below.
I don't think I ever really had it on my SV but my GSXR750 was a swine for getting hot in town - it'd spend most of the journey from Wandsworth to Tower Hill between 100 and 110. The thou, oddly, kicks out far less heat.
Either way, don't worry about it. Only worry if the temp hits 110 and the fan hasn't kicked in yet. Then you're stuffed.

Lol, I did exactly the same thing not long after I got my bike - couldn't understand why the temp kept rising - especially after I had a three hour "pit stop" and couldn't work out why he engine hadn't cooled down in that time....
