I organised the sweep at work yesterday, and won F all! :(

One of the guys in our office said he was going to put a couple of quid on each of the long-shots as a 'you never know' thing, I bet he's minted now!

my dad won 170 odd quid on the winner. he put it on cos it was 100-1! Jammy git.
He also put money on number 8 which led a good deal of the way but fell with four fences to go. :rolleyes:

I put £1 each way on Cerium at 500/1. Sky Bet did an offer where they pay out on the top 5.

you have a choice, either take the odds offered at time of betting - look for how the market is going. if you're doing it online it will tell you what its previous odds were. if its coming down take the odds at time of betting, if its going out take a chance and take the SP (starting price)

only big races like the Derby and National pay out 4 places, this year was the first time bookies were offering 5 places and even then not all were, only online accounts i think - certainly paddypower and skybet were offering 5 places

i would have gone to the betting shop, so probably would only pay out on the first 4 then?

i only ever bet on the National and as you can see, i dont do it every year
