No, the riders agreed that due to the floodlights, they won't race if it's wet. The track seems to dry very quickly, but we'll have to see how hard it rains.

they cant ride in the rain cause apparently the lights would be too bright and would blind them. Its ok at all the other circuits though

Ever ridden on a wet road when the suns out ? Glare off a wet road surface can be blinding, imagine what that track is going to be like when its wet when its got a 1000 odd lights shining on it. Riders decided that they wouldnt race with the track like that as they didnt want to ride blind...

Edit - doh ! to slow...

****in hell sorry cant ride to work today boss bit of glare.

You don't race to work though (I'd imagine). These guys will race in wet conditions that would make you cry and go home, at 100% and at 180Mph.

They want to race, it's what they do. But if it's dangerous...

I dunno if it stops raining it'll dry quick, they delayed the 250 start to give the track more time to dry after they canned the 125 raace. I hope they delay the moto gp start to...

Shame about the sh*tty amateur BBC coverage, why oh why oh why cant they get this right, they make a top job of the F1 coverage and then make a right horlicks out of the moto gp...

Whats wrong with the BBC coverage? I don't understand?

I dont like

The Suzi Perry I'm going to flirt with JT all the time coverage

Charlie Cox talks b*ll*x pretty much every time he speaks in the commentary box

Steve Parish whilst knowledgable gets on my wick constantly going on about how he used to "race with Barry Sheene" all the time.

Matt Roberts isnt to bad, but he sometimes seemed overawed by the riders themselves.

I prefered the Eurosport coverage and team, slick, knowledgable and just much more professional IMHO.

Will do.

They are showing a re-run of the 250 GP at the moment... at least they havent pulled the plug like the BBC did, so there might be a chance we'll actually find out whats going on...

As plowsie says, team bosses are meeting to decide whether they can run the race tomorrow and then get to Japan for motegi, depends on whether they can get flights and hotel rooms etc etc sorted out...

Forgive me if i took it too seriously but did MotoGP only have 2 dry races last season? I haven't followed it before but that 250 race looked wicked so i'm gonna start watching (seeing as Formula1 has decided in recent years that 3 week breaks are okay).

Here's the official line from motogp.com....

Due to adverse weather conditions, the MotoGP race at the Commercial bank Grand Prix of Qatar has been postponed.

Following discussions between FIM, IRTA, Dorna and the QMMF, a proposal was put to the MotoGP teams to run the race tomorrow evening. Thanks to a huge effort from all parties concerned, and out of respect to fans of motorsport around the world, it has been decided that the race will take place on Monday 13th April, 2009.

The warm-up will run at 6.30pm local time (GMT+3), with the race scheduled to start at 9pm.

FIM Road-racing Commission President, Mr. Claude Danis stated, “For safety reasons it was not possible to race in the night due to the reflection of the lights on the track. This decision had already been taken a few years ago when we first decided to run a night race in Qatar. On behalf of the FIM I am very happy that we could postpone the race until tomorrow. It is important for the championship, especially at the first race, and I would like to thank Dorna, QMMF, IRTA and the MotoGP teams for helping reach this decision together.”

Dorna Sports CEO, Mr. Carmelo Ezpeleta added, “After the arrival of a large storm we had to cancel the race as it was unsafe. The QMMF offered us the choice to run the race tomorrow, and as it was a very important decision we wanted to consult with all the team managers. The postponement was accepted by a large majority. This has been an extraordinary decision in extraordinary circumstances.”

Hope I'm back intime from Brands. Just hope it doesn't rain in the desert tomorrow nighthttp://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

Yeh, it had just started to rain, to me it looked like a slip on the front tyre as he came round but I'd be interested to know as he hit it quiet hard! Hayden looked to be struggling a lot in qualifying though.

Its only on Eurosport. So you'll need either sky or a freeview box with top up TV card to watch it on TV

Failing that, you can watch WSB online, or you could last year anyway, Have a look at the WSB website.

The website states that due to exclusive TV contracts they cannot show live feed in the following countries (see list on website)

Luckily the UK/England are not on the list, so i would presume it is available for us online. :D

On the down side it has to be viewed using Internet Explorer...
