hows about a google link to the tescos? as there is 3 in brighouse

lol, ohhhhh the confusion!

When I was talking to greek about the tesco, it was the one at york where we are meeting up with the rest of the org. its the tesco which is in the clifton moor retail park and has a petrol station.

But Hovis the tesco's for us at brighouse Im thinking of the one closest to the motorway just off the big roundabout. I'll try post a google link to both the hunsworth pub and the tescos at brighouse for anyone interested.

EDIT, the one I was thinking of is the one which is B on your link map mate (at the bottom of clifton road)

I am bringing a mate with me on this ride out. ;)

He rides a GSX650F and is a very sensible rider

Dave P what time are you setting of as we might follow you to the start point if that is OK. We can meet you at the McDonald's on the A59 just before Clitheroe if you like :D

just a quick quote from paul the 6th on the idea behind this jaunt so you know what to expect
carlsberg don't do rideouts, but if they did:
- there would be no petrol stops
- they would start and end at a reasonable time
- there would be plenty of time for banter/chatting without being rushed by the group leader
- there would be the option of heading to squires at the end of it
- and once at squires, you could dabble in the carvery or greasy burgers

loving it

its easy. you will be fine

but you must stress the fact that all junctions need to be marked, nobody over take you, (wearing a hi-viz may help)

and make sure everyone knows the drop off system

its also a good idea for everyone on the ride to have a few of the other riders mobile numbers

I'll be having my bluetooth helmet switched on as I need to take a call at some point during the day. Its just an idea but if everyone took my number before we started then if they get lost/breakdown then they can give me a call and at the next oportunity I can let pt6/dp know.

Steve

Paul the 6th
12-05-09, 03:20 PM
I reckon we'll get through the ride within around 3 hours, so we should be done by 2. Well, the nice thing with this particular ride is that you won't have a ride leader wandering round shouting at everyone to gear up and get ready after a 5 min fuel stop... if anyone wants to grab food and have a proper natter after, then you can loiter as long as you like.

Not sure if I've mentioned this already but the start at point a has a petrol station and the end point has a petrol station, so although there's no stops in the middle, you won't be short of fuel at the beginning or end of the ride :)

In london at the mo and won't be home til about midnight so I'll reply properly to other posts/questions in a bit. As suggested, mobiles numbers would be a good idea, so if you could pm me with your mobiles, I'll generate a list for me and davepreston to refer to, could even be printed on the back of the route map a bit like hardy bikers rideout. If you object to your number being included in the 'group list' and handed out on the back of the map, please let me know in your pm so that I can keep it locked down... word up

Hunsworth pub, leave the M62 at the junction marked for A58. Down to roundabout, A58>Leeds follow that and it's just on the left there.

It's J26 and the pub is a couple hundred yards off the roundabout.

hi is it easy to find the puv=b from the motorway if so i will joine you there if thats ok

Yeah as YC said, the junction number is 26 on the M62. If your heading eastbound, its the junction after the welcome break hartshead services.
Take the slip road and go into the right hand of the 2 lanes. Stay in the inside lane of the roundabout as you head round and under the first bridge. Then as you carry on round under the 2nd bridge and past the sliproad back onto the M62 come accross into the left most lane. Follow that lane and you'll be on the A58 to leeds. Its on your left round the corner (entrance is a left at the traffic lights)

hold up - http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/yh/york_forecast_weather.html - met office is showing a sunny day saturday. Could still change but that's a good sign.

There's a new weather system moving in off the atlantic, lots of low pressure (bad weather) which is going to be across the south and west midlands, but it's patchy up north so we could well have a dry'ish day compared to the rest of the country :)
