:smt022 It pains me to do this, it really does, but here's my 2000 W Reg Black Curvy for Sale. I'm the 3rd owner, and I've had it since July 2007 (my first bike :smt054).

I'm going to work on that down pipe again this week, to get it back to this kind of state:

http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee87/JMio/DSC00675.jpg

The blurb:

Tax: 10/11 months (I can't remember if it was the end of Feb or March that I bought the disc - will confirm this tonight).

MOT: Due any day now so it'll have 12 months for the new owner.

Drops/Prangs: Never been dropped or crashed - minor scuffs on the left hand mirror where I caught it coming out of the garage, and the usual few brown bolts etc.

Mileage: 21.5k

Services: Serviced at every 4,000 mile interval (both by myself and it's previous owners) most recently (less than 500 miles ago) changed the Oil, Filter, Plugs, Chain and both Sprockets.
Due to an unknown electrical fault (kept popping the Signal fuse) I've completely rewired the bike (bought a complete wiring loom from Adam_Castell on here), and all electrics have been cleaned up, WD40'd and put back together - all are working perfectly.
The Regulator/Rectifier was also changed last year, another common fault to cross off the list! It also got a new battery at the same time as the Reg/Rec.

Tyres: Continental Road Attacks - Rear tyre was replaced approx 1k miles ago due to a puncture and is very good, will need a front tyre before long (500-800 miles ish I'd guess).

Add Ons / Juicy Bits:
-- Dark Tint Fabbri Double Bubble screen
-- Remus Revolution Exhaust Can (with Removable Baffle) which sounds truly awesome!
-- Scottoiler
-- Oxford Heated Grips
-- Hagon Rear Shock & Front Springs
-- Larger Rear Sprocket for better acceleration

It's running really, really sweetly now but I'm feeling the draw towards something new too much to suppress!

No interest? I'd much rather it went to a good & loving home than sticking it on AdTrader etc...

Come on .Org, give a Curvy a good home!

AH, yeah that's maybe a bit too much of a drop that I can afford to take, sorry!

Good luck!

uh oh! thats very nice an extremely tempting. I was hoping for something more spares or repair tbh not a replacement. A replacement means I'd have to sell mine...

There's always the DizzyBlonde option of 1 Black & 1 Yellow Curvy that's served her so well....... Every good yellow SV should have a Black companion to look up to..

lol, once heaven is finished been built there will be room for a 2nd. I intended to pretty much build one so I could understand them more and stop referring to certain parts as thingy-m-jiggers. Plus my budget is on the other side of £1200 to your asking price, very nice bike though if I'm still working and its not sold by around June I may re-consider.

Good luck for it when it comes... I found that having a black Curvy SV650S starting at me every time I opened the garage was the best motivation for passing my test.

I get the feeling I'm just a little too late for this, it it still up for sale?

JamesMio
24-05-09, 02:35 PM
Sorry for the late replies to everyone that's asked about this - I'm just back from a 2 week euro trip (on another bike!).

Yes it's still available, but I still need to stick a new tyre on the front and MOT it, which Id been putting off until I got back.

All being well I'll get it booked in this week so you're very welcome to come & have a look at it anytime you like.

(If you're desperate to get one I'd be happy to knock the cost of a tyre & MOT off it and sell it 'as is') ?

Cheers
James

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, finally finished the last of my exams.

So close yet so far. It looks great, exactly what I'm looking for...except that it's in Scotland, and I'm in London.
Unfortunately it seems like a long way to go for a look.

Sorry

Ah, yeah it's a bit of a trek to dat London. Still for sale folks - must be sold, come on!

JamesMio

OK - I've found a suitable replacement, and I'm willing to let this go for the trade in value to an 'Orger, it will save me an untold amount of hassle in getting the bike to the dealers, (and I might be able to sway a better deal with no trade in...)

It'll breeze it's MOT - £1400 if you want me to stick a tyre and MOT on it.

Come on, don't be shy!

OK - MOT is booked in for a week today and the new front tyre (a very nice Continental Sport Attack) is on order.

Price a final £1400 seeing as the MOT is booked and the tyre is bought!

James, if you need to sell the bike to somebody in England you can come and stay here overnight to conduct the sale and break the journey, and I'll take you into Birmingham New Street to get the train back up the next day. Were are next to M42 J4, about 10 mins from the NEC where you went for the bike show.

It's 240 miles from Dumfries down to here and about 4 hours back up on the train, with tickets between £15 and £80 depending upon how far in advance you book (Just booked my wifes train to Edinburgh for the Massacre weekend and it was £15.50 each way).

Still got it - it's booked in for an MOT on Friday (also getting a new front tyre at the same time) but I've got someone wanting first dibs on it (RJ88 on here).

If he ends up either not wanting it or not coming to see it, you're very welcome to have a look.

New front tyre is now fitted (a nice Continental Sport Attack) and as an added bonus to whoever buys this bike, I noticed that the front brake pads are getting a bit low, so they're being replaced and the calipers are being stripped down and serviced before it's MOT too...

I mean, honestly, what more do you want!? ;)

Update:

Bike is back from it's MOT - all clear, new front brake pads have been fitted and it's good go to.

Is the bike still available? Totally interested and looking to buy in the next couple of weeks.

Used to own a Ducati Monster s2r, which an X5 kindly mashed. Now mate is recommending sv650 over any other similar bike. Drop me an email or a comment on the blog charitybiker.com to get in touch.

Thanks

Technically, yes, but I've got someone coming to see it this week so I'll need to wait until they've decided on it first... I'll let you know either way though, cheers.
