Hi,

I'm a newbie to bikes as people have probs seen - regarding to scratched fairings, I've seen a bike with a few scratches and wondered if they'll polish up or will need respraying altogether?

Otherwise I'll flog the fairings and buy a belly pan if I buy the bike.

Help much appreciated,
James

The bike is a good deal in my eyes, 2500 miles k4, still haggling price, and hes only 18miles from me (£2150/£2200 im hopin for).

He dropped it on the drive and after market fairings are scratched, and polishable scratch on the front but thats hardly noticable.

Too much. Second hand SVs are worth peanuts as the new ones aren't exactly pricey. No way will that polish out either. Suzuki are obviously weight saving when it comes to paint ;)

i think the scratces will look ok with a polish, i dont think its worth painting (depends how fussy you are)

what extras has it, and whts the cond, £2200 seems i little high

I wouldn't pay moe than £1800 (sorry if it's someone on here selling!)
ALL those panels need respraying. You could do it yourself for £50 and it'd look pretty good. But it is a few hours work.

How the **** they bashed it up so much in 2500 miles is beyond me.

Thanks for your opinion dizzy + hovis.

I'm a total newbie to buying a bike, and dad is a car man doesn't know next to nothing about it.

I initially offered £2000 and he said he wouldn't take it, may keep watching the auction and see what I can get bid wise for it a bit cheaper than my original offer, will keep looking out otherwise.

I looked at the recent SV650S K4 blue which was posted tonight, I know the fella posts on here but your opinion on price for the condition its in?

It says 2403 for me, but I was a bit cautious to one of the pictures as the calipers, or bolts near look rusty as fook for that milage.

Yeah, £1700 is the lowest S will go have PM'd her, just having a scout about as pref something with lower milage, however if a bit lower then would consider, but going to see what comes up.

Have noticed that with the SV, sat on a Hornet 600 K5 today, shame its a grand above my budget, for a 03 plate onwards.

Yeh, its what I'm thinking, although higher milage she explained all service history, and I don't think its been down the road either...

I do wonder.

I think I'm gonna go for Sosha's if she still has it available, first bike, don't want to spend a great deal and means insurance is down which means save a bit. Will probably get a belly pan / fairings for it depending if I can get them second hand. Means I can start eyeing up another bike when restrictor up as I'll keep it until thats done.

My first bike, negative attitude I wouldn't think about it whilst I'm doing it, but it may get dropped. A friend of mine has Z750 brand new, we 2k miles on it now, looks the nice (ill find a pic), he was polishing it and he dropped it, luckily caught it on his legs but had a sore back after that.

Easy to sort, just get some crash bungs for the sides, it'll save you any damage if you drop it while stationary, even with lowers.
