This is my new desktop pic. The Curvey is actually quite handsome, snapped on a good day:

I'd just given her a little drink of T-Cut and polish:

Is it wrong to bond with inanimate objects?

My wife says I love my SV more than her. I took too long to disagree and now she's in the huff:

it is a good looking machine though dude and the camera seems to be working well.

tsh...look at the corrosion on them forks!
To truely bond with your machine you must also have polished the downpipe to a mirror shine ;-)
But sigh, its a lot cleaner than mine are right now :-) :-(

strip them with paint stripper then polish them. Do not re laquer, as its easier to re polish. The mess on the forks is caused by the laquer getting holes in it, then salt and crap gets under it making them horrid white spidery bits. If you re laquer them it'll only do the same. Both my SVs have polished forks, and I have never had an issue with them,
it's probably to do with the shoddy job suzook do with the fork laquer like it's just been farted on i've not seen other bike's go like it as bad as the sv did actually my kwak had but that was crap so that don't count.

"My wife says I love my SV more than her. I took too long to disagree and now she's in the huff:"
My missus says this about my bike and both my cats. Still you gotta laugh eh?
Nice looking bike dude, very nice. The guy who owned my SV before me stripped the forks and painted them black, I think he only p**s-canned them but they look much better and I'll never have to touch them again.
My only question is: Did you use a toothbush to clean her?
OK, I have another question if the answer to the first question is yes: Was that toothbush the size of them toothbrushes (teethbrushii) that one would use to clean the stylus on an expensive record deck like a Rega Planar or a Thorens?
Your bike looks cleaner than new bikes...did you use boy scouts? When I say "use" obviously I mean "employ".

Hmm, call me naïve but are they crash bungs on the rear swing arms? I've not seen them before. Cool.
Also, I wish my first post had been:
"Ah, you missed a bit."

Yup. Use them for the paddock stand too.

Your downpipe looks bronzed, which is further along than my upside down inside out chimney breast.
Forks are a good idea, i can't be arsed / don't want to screw up taking my forks off to polish them but it's well worth it.
Looks nice tho.

Thanks for the fork advice, guys.
The photos do make the bike look cleaner and tidyer than it acually is to the naked eye.
Which can only be a good thing, IMO :)

Re: Paddock stand.
Hilarious. I've honestly not seen 'em like that before on the various bikes I've been close to over the last few years, seen metal bobbin types like on mine and others blah, and I thought, well "them bungs" don't look anywhere near long enough to protect the exhaust or anything else for that matter...too funny; well for others anyway. #-o
I see now, I've been educated.
its cleaner than mine, which is only 7 months old...
That is one tidy looking bike! :)
Tidy as in clean, not aestheticly pleasing, as it is a curvy :)
