Yup, and I dont like them as much as metzeler MEZ6's...I dont feel like there is as much grip...

R&G ones, they were on the bike when i got it 2 and a half years ago...sid squid informs me they are early generation ones and arn't that great, but they did save my bike a bit when i dropped it in the driveway once. Better than nothing IMO
Dave - no worries mate, im expecting stick for my topbox
BRING IT ON .ORG
where are your obligatory pitted fork's letting the side down.
fantastic yellow curvy, I'd stick up a pic of my sv with topbox but it might cause a riot ;)

Nope me as well, not keen on them at all at the moment.
believe me they do take some hammer, the grip APPEARS to be there it just does not feel like it for me.

If you want proper grip never buy sports touring tyres :(
I'll learn from my mistakes lol hopefully the 021's will wear out quicker than 6k, they look like they will

why not? the Storms are sports touring, and they stick like **** to a blanket:lol:
It depends what you use your bike for. I go some pretty long distances at times so need a good tyre for that. Also not being of the heffer type, I need a set of tyres that stick to the road (as I found out up the M62 this week with mahhhhhooooossssive crosswinds). . . and living in Yorkshire I have some pretty cool wiggles and corners to contend with, good grippy tyres are a must round here. On top of all this I need atyre that will warm up in Winter ASAP when I go to work. The Storms tick every box:D for my personal preferences
Nice yellow bike there Matt :p

I think the definition of proper grip is the problem, like you say it depends on how you ride I guess.
Strange thing is I have never NOT had confidence in a tyre....even with the standard D220's on the pointy....I then try something recommended by thousands as one of the grippiest sports touring tyres and they seem poo   typical
PS: Apologies for the derail......you started it :p

yeah sorry ASH!
I remember way back when, when Bridgestones 020's? were the bees knees in SV tyres(so people said). I originally had them and hated them, so replaced them with Avon Azaro's which sadly you can't get now :-(
I had some Metzlers sportec jobbies(which again were recommended) on the black SV that came brand new with the bike, I couldn't wait to get rid of them after a trip to France they only had about 2000 miles on them, I told my tyre mate to just get rid of them, and they were replaced with the Storms. Both SVs and the Raptor have Storms now....even speedy gonzalez(Im Indoors) loves them!
The topbox still looks like a bin!!!!!
I can smell the pizza from down here
pitted forks, dirty down pipe... even hand guards !!!
looks good to me pal...

yea, i brought it off this dude who now owns one of those grandad bikes

:flower: :smt035
As for the fork finish people's - its not doing too bad; 2 and a half years ago those forks were stripped and repainted, its only since this winter that its started to suffer (as has the other bits on my bike)
Don't worry about the derail; I would have gone for Storms, but in an emergency when i needed a rear tyre, the BT021 was all I could get hold of, so thats what I have been lumbered with. I dont think my OEM shock helps matters, but I'm trying to ignore it for as long as I can and ride around the old duffer I got there :-dd
Those handgaurds are friggin' ace
who ordered 4 cheese pizza?
If it was not for the grandads bike you wouldn't have got those handguards!!! :p

You wouldnt want my bike, it needs a dam good clean! plus I still like it.

Joking :p
Curvy's look much better with belly pans than full fairings in my opinion.
Like that one above :)
Even though.. it is a curvy, theres limits to how good it can look! :)

The shot dosn't show up the paint starting to bubble on the forks, around the mudgaurd mounting lug. I'll have to strip them down in the summer and repaint them before next winter, else I'll be sporting something hideous :smt119
Dizzy, you're right...I commute and do everything else on that bike :D handgaurds beat handlebar muffs hands down in terms of stability, although they are a biiit chillier than the muffs. I don't have to defend my topbox :smt055
When i get my next bike (at the moment I want an FZ1s), the SV will be returned to its original intention...a easy-to-ride pseudo-sports bike. That means....bye bye topbox :rabbit: hellloooo GSXR front end :bigsmurf: and oh, a rear shock that has damping :smt012 :D
Sometime next year...lets hope its ready for AR10 :bounce:

Why not just buy a sports bike?
Because I like the SV, I don't want to get rid of it and I want to find out what I can do with it. I'd much rather invest in a good, well made, reliable, bigger-engined bike for the daily commute / two-up riding / long tours, and keep the SV as my sunday toy :D I have fun riding the SV hard, because riding it hard is like riding a GSXR moderatly. And my lisence appreciates that :D
SP1 / SP2's still try and tempt me though. No! I won't do it!
