littleoldman2
19-06-18, 11:57 AM
Yes. Not yet bike fit and camping will be a problem health wise ( getting a little better every day) but very much hope to be there.

Bibio

take your time, better recovering properly.

Been a'round the haulage yard a couple of times on the VV a fortnight ago and all's well. I'm more bothered about erecting the tent and sterilising my PEG tubes than anything. But I'm in that unpleasent place where I'm not fit enough to do what I want but fit enough to be stir crazy.

Bibio
19-06-18, 03:38 PM
been there... by-pass made me feel 18 again but limited movement (in case sternum came apart) was murder. its just a waiting game m8.

If only I was a bit closer, I have fond memories of riding from my sisters to Glen Shee on my little CBX550, which is part of your route.

A late UPS trailer arrival has delayed delivery. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible. Stupid Italians

I might just come anyway on my old saggy chain

Bibio
11-07-18, 08:10 PM
we wont be going fast anyway so you should be fine.

why did you buy a c&s from Italy?

DarrenSV650S
11-07-18, 08:33 PM
No one here has them in stock with 2 extra teeth. It's weird, on aftermarket spec sheets for the bike the standard size is the largest available. The only option is to go for smaller sprockets

Bibio
11-07-18, 08:46 PM
2 extra teeth... good luck keeping the front end down :-)

Would've been right up for this for various reasons - including a "Bibio fork bounce ©" if available!

I could probably get my squared off rear (tyre) changed tomorrow but I'll also be swapping the original Gladius shock back in at the same time for it's imminent warranty visit to Cupar. They want extra to remove the tank (because of the GSXR reservoir) and it's an ideal time to check/re-grease all the linkages anyway. So, 17 stone on an original Gladius shock is not a good idea.

But the real "killer" is the all-day wedding on Saturday...

Sorry for the story and hope to get to one of these soon - especially this side of the bridge.

Bibio
12-07-18, 05:56 PM
one day... lol

its always a good time to grease things especially linkage bearings.

extra to lift a tank coz of a brake fluid rez... hhmmmm.

yee_har
12-07-18, 06:19 PM
Nah - the GSXR rear shock reservoir means the tank won't lift fully to do the Gladius cam recall check.

I've not rushed to get the recall done - and apparently it needed to have n,nnn miles on it before checking anyway - but booked it in last month.

When I mentioned the GSXR shock (years ago) I'm pretty sure they wanted 1/2 hr labour* if they couldn't simply prop the tank open so I thought "Better idea - I'll put miles on and swap/re-grease/re-swap the two shocks around the recall in a few years" i.e. now.

* Not dissing them, they seem decent enough every time I've been in.

Bibio
12-07-18, 08:46 PM
1/2hr is not bad TBH but in reality it takes an extra 5min to take the tank completely off. i do it all the time on my K7 when mucking about under the tank as its much easier to work.

Cupar are good guys.

Craigg
13-07-18, 08:30 AM
does the SV tank have quick release fittings? or usual banjo and rubber connections?

took the tank of a mates STriple and it was a doddle with the quick releases not ****ing fuel everywhere... the VFR on the other hand! :(

Craigg
13-07-18, 08:30 AM
silly double post!

Bibio
13-07-18, 02:26 PM
the pointy tank has 3 bolts, 2 breather hoses, quick release petrol hose and 1 electrical connector. to take a tank off it takes me about 5min, add another 2 for the seat.

if i had one of those proper petrol coupling pliers it would go a lot faster.

Wait and see. It'll probably change by Saturday evening

Bibio
13-07-18, 08:28 PM
doubt it. there are big bugger storms brewing the in Gulf of Mexico which will be heading our way. this is why the weather has been sooooo gooood this year as its basically back to normal with it pretty much following the Gulf Stream. last year it was coming straight off the east coast of America.

Craigg
14-07-18, 04:48 PM
Still looking abit rainy :o

Bibio

i'll pop a route up later.

I have a valid excuse. My chain has some gnarly tight spots.

And I just cleaned my bike so I don't want all that horrible rain getting it dirty :-dd
