Anyone know how to get it off a leather sofa?

My wonderful boyfriend thought it would be clever to superglue whilst sat on the sofa. He noticed a blob of it on the sofa so put the tube down and went to get a cloth to wipe it... the tube had glue on it too so got stuck to the sofa!!
He managed to get the tube off but it has left white marks on the sofa and a bit of glue remains.

I mean seriously... I leave him alone for a few days.....

I think the usual first steps in these situations are to point at sofa and scream at bf, don't speak to him for 3 days (and other stuff) and allow him to find the solution himself. If there is one. If the solution causes more problems on the sofa, rinse and repeat until a new sofa appears.

Superglue Remover is available from all good retail outlets, but I guess test on a bit of the sofa first in case it take the colour out. The white marks may be from 'pulling the tube off' (so to speak )

Ah you see I thought I was wise to the ways of women... but I was too hasty. The "save it for when its useful" technique always gets me.

You can also try Acetone on a cotton bud (Nail Polish Remover contains Acetone) as with all these things , test a bit on somehwere it can`t be seen , try to dab only at the glue and not at the leather as it may dry out the natural oils or Colouring may be removed .

Acetone will break that down easily enough so that won`t happen , I remove small bits of Loctite in sensitive areas using cotton buds and Acetone and Loctite is a Cyanoacrylate in the same manner that Superglue is , the Acetone will be enough to over-power the Superglue and it will come away on the end of the bud .

As long as they don`t "Stamp" the bud into it and just drag the bud along it then there shouldn`t be any problem ..........

Disclaimer : this is advice if it buggers your settee up I never mentioned this :D

I read that acetone is also the solvent for the dye in the leather. So not recommend to use that.

One other recommendation was tea tree oil?

hmm, I have concluded that I shall not be attempting to remove said stains as this would void any possible future retorts on the matter!

It`ll probably crumble away eventually , you can test an area like the bit where they staple it underneath if you are not sure

warm soapy water eventually gets it off human skin without any adverse reaction, once used acet6one to get ink off a sofa...... big mistake :-(
dab a bit of white spirit on a clean white cloth, that might do it, but maybe test it first somewhere not too visible

but human skin renews itself - i regularly coat myself with glue (its a hobby ) and if just left for a day or 2, it wears off. Leather, being dead, doesn't do this.

do not attempt to remove superglue from a leather suite..

leather suites are coated with a plasticiser and if you try to remove it it will lift the plasticiser off... the only way to rectify this is to get a professional leather repairer it to do it... he will remove the glue then touch up the plasticiser with as close a colour match as he can, which is usually veeeeery good....

lock tight glue remover...Propylene carbonate 60-99%
