Can you guess what the title is referring to before clicking on the news link? :)

brilliant lol.
Something like this pops up every once in a while. It's not the first moon at a camera and there was that guy that drove round in his right hand drive car in germany or somewhere with a muppet doll thing in the left seat and the cameras never got the drivers face.

I'd say f*** em, but you cannot even do that in your own home any more (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wear/8021185.stm)

There was one a couple of years back where some old boy was done for flicking the Vs (not speeding at the time) at one. They claimed he was DWDC as he had one hand off the wheel unecessarily. Naturally, they didn't bust any of the other people who drove by with hand off the wheel doing things like fiddling with the radio, that'd impact their machine control far more far more than this. It's driven more by a childish reaction to not liking the public voicing their disapproval of speed cameras (which is what this sort of behaviour is) than any concern for the safety of the occupants of the vehicle or those around them. Well done chaps, great way to get people to lose faith in the force.

As an aside, I'll give them the thumbs down when stopped at lights, handbrake on, etc. wouldn't do it whilst moving for fear of reprisals.

this is completely shocking! terrible behaviour by the driver also allowig a passenger to travel in the vehicle with a seatbelt on! I think he should probably have his liscense removed! as for thebpassenger it was such a shocking thingto do I think he deserves jail!

What?
Terrible behaviour by allowing the driver to wear a seatbelt?
Jail for the guy who moonied, its only his ****, no big deal.
A ban for the driver, what did he do?
He ain't responsible for his passanger wearing a seatbelt.

I think they've changed the law plowsie. I'm sure I read somewhere if the passenger is over like 13 or 16 or something it's their responisiblity.
Or is that pillions and helmets

I think you will find that is wrong. Though I can't be sure.

Passengers over 14 are classed as adult passengers and are responsible for wearing the seatbelt. So a 14 year old will be done for no seatbelt, but a if a younger passenger is not wearing one, the driver is done.

Adults
Drivers and adult front seat passengers in cars must wear a seat belt, unless they have a medical exemption certificate. Adults travelling in the rear of a car must also use seat belts, if they are fitted. It is the responsibility of the adult passenger (not the driver) to ensure that they are using the seat belt.

someone will correct me if im wrong but I'd heard if you have a drivers licence but are caught without a sealbelt in the passenger seat you can still face prosicution. If a passenger is under 14 then its the drivers responsibility to make sure they belt up. over 14 is the passengers neck on the line.

You face prosecution for not wearing a seat belt if you are 14 or older. Having a driving licence or not is irrelevant.

"We"?

Scamera operators have overtaken traffic wardens in the league tables of human filth. Doubt anyone would complain too much if a couple of WPs found their way into the van with them. Mmmmm medium rare fixed penalty notices :-P

I beleive this falls outside the "you must incriminate yourself or someone else" laws, so when they ask who's the rse... he can giggle a bit and tell them he's done naughty things to their mothers.. or something.

Ha! i think the driver should have some sort of warning as he allowed the passanger to do it thus removing their seat belt (which i always thought driver got fined for)

I'm sure Ed or someone will be able to clarify, but IIRC, it's only yourself and your spouse that falls into that category of exemption...

...still, could be his missus. ;)

it's against a persons' human rights to convict them on the grounds of having a bad memory

Does this mean if you get stopped and you have a blood covered hatchet under the passenger seat you can't just say 'meh could have been any of my murderer pals'' ?
