EDIT: Correct. I knew it by another name, namely woodlouse spider. :)
PS. Esther, great to see you posting again, don't see that much of you these days.

Is that a way of saying thats what the Swine Flu Bug actually looks like?
Maria, please accept this as a public apology. :) I stated above that you were wrong, but that's only because I knew it as a different name.
I know it as a "woodlouse spider."
Lissa, since you found one in the bath you might want to hide Pete from the following information (you don't want the neighbours to hear him scream do you?).
It's named the "woodlouse spider" after the prey it eats. Namely woodlice. It's fangs are so sharp (because woodlice are damned tough little beggars) that it's the only spider native to the UK that can actually bite a human.
So there. :P

arghhhhhhhhh
runs around room, scratching neck and feeling horrid:o.
Did you have to zooooom in on it so much Baph:shock:
It was Pete who found it. He just draped toilet paper over the edge of the bath and let the spider take it's chance with our three cats.
We never saw the spider again!;)

Hard to get an idea of size. How big is it?

I'm tempted to ask a question about before/after...
Maybe 2inch, a little more for the length of the body, "head to tail" - not that spiders have tails, obviously. :)

Yeh sorry fella, we realised we couldn't just let anyone be a Spierman so we rounded up all the spiders carrying the mutant gene and had them put on secret rendition flights to here and there. But we didn't torture any of them befor you get too worried. They're being looked at by good men.
